More Christmas Decorating

by Meghann on November 30, 2008

So sad the long weekend is coming to an end. Time to get back to the real world with a regular routine and set meals. I enjoyed my Thanksgiving Holiday immensely, but I really do like routine. I’m also very excited for all the new adventures December has to offer. It really is the most wonderful time of the year. ๐Ÿ™‚

I stayed home long enough to help my parents finish off their decorating.

I can promise you I never went up that ladder, but I kept a close eye on my Dad and Bro as they defined gravity up there.

With all that we got accomplished it still feels like they still had a lot to do! My Mom has her first Holiday get together of the year planned at her house on Friday so I’m sure they should have it all done before then.

Over the weekend my parents built up quite a bit of leftovers in the fridge so for lunch we decided to help dive in.

I had a couple of piece of Vegetarian Pizza and Greek Salad from Friday Night and 2 Chicken Wings and some Veggies from Saturday Night. It was a big lunch and kept me full through dinner.

When I got back to my apartment I still had some Christmas decorating of mine to do. I hung mine and Abbie’s stockings and then put my Christmas Tree up.

It’s not as extravagant as my Mother’s but the tree has special meaning to me. I’ve had my own Christmas tree ever since I spent the Christmas holiday in the Hospital when I broke my leg when I was 9. Each ornament on the tree has special meaning to me and each year as I put them up tons of memories always come flooding back. Memories of making ornaments when I was in the hospital, memories of putting the Christmas tree up with my roommates in college and memories of last year when me and my then boyfriend put the tree up with Abbie by our side. The tree holds a lot of powerful memories and to me that makes it more beautiful then any fancy tree out there. ๐Ÿ™‚

When I checked my mail today I also had this little surprise waiting for me.

Caroline was very sweet to send me a Thank You card with some Kashi coupons. She know how much I love my Kashi cereal! Thanks Caroline!!

After I put the tree up I made a simple dinner. Simple was exactly what I needed after this long weekend.

I made my version of a Lox and Bagel

I had a toasted Wheat Bagel, Fat free Cream Cheese, Capers, and Salmon.

On the side I had some Rutabaga Fries.

I cut a rutabaga in to fry shapes and heated them up in the oven at 415 degrees for 25 minutes.

For dessert I couldn’t resist this little baby at Publix Today.

I may not had been able to find the Pumpkin version, but there was no way I was missing out on the Peppermint one as well.

I had a small bowl with a crumbled up Candy Cane Jo Jo on top.

The Ice Cream was amazing and perfect for the holiday season! It also gave me some killer fresh breath!

Now I have some more unpacking and organizing to do to get me ready for the upcoming weekend. Good night!
