Good Monday Morning everyone! I think all of your winter weather everyone has been complaining about finally made its way to Florida. It is officially freezing here, which means I finally got a chance to test out my new Oikos beanie.

Aren’t I stylish?

I had to dress warm to take Abbie out this morning. Just to walk around my apartment complex I slipped on my Ugg knock offs, sweat pants, sweat shirt, gloves and the beanie. I had the window open when I went to bed last night so my apartment was of course an iceburg when I woke up. So instead of rolling out of bed at my usual time to go for a morning run, I thought it best to stay exactly where I was, wrapped all nice and toasty under my blanket for at least another thirty minutes. Those extra thirty minutes were so worth it. I will brave to cold to run tomorrow, but today was a well deserved rest day.

In honor of the cold I thought it was best to break out the Snowman Bowl for my breakfast this morning.

Inside Mr. Snowman I tried a new combination.

I had a Strawberry Chobani Yogurt, 1 cup of Kashi Heart 2 Heart, and 1 chopped small Apple all mixed together this morning. I really liked the Strawberry Chobani, but as a yogurt newbie I realized 1 full serving is too much for me at a time. I think a half of container in here would have been perfect. It is fun to have something new to play my cereal up with. J

A while back I received some Kardea bars in the mail. I gave the Chai Spice a good review, but was not too impressed with the Cranberry Almond. Since I can not eat Bananas I gave the Banana Nut flavor to my sister for her to review. Granted I did give her the task a couple of months ago, but she finally sent me an e-mail last night with her review.

Here is what she had to say:

“I ate this bar at the wedding I attended with Anthony right after the ceremony was over. I thought that I would enjoy the bar because I really love banana nut bread. I however really do not like banana or fake banana flavor. In normal banana nut bread the flavor of the banana is slight while in the bar the banana flavor was overwhelming. I ate only a few bites and gave up. I usually eat bars that are very crunchy and this soft bar was a nice change. I would like to try this brand in other flavors.”

Basically with the Kardea bars we are 1 and 2, sorry Kardea! I do still have the Lemon Ginger flavor, but after my awful experience the Ginger Snap Larabar I am too afraid to even attempt to try. So, I think it is safe to say my reviews of the Karea bars are complete and in all honesty I am not sure I would purchase these bars under my own terms, oh well, better luck next time.

In other news…

The cold weather really is a bummer!! I’m up here in PA and have my half-marathon this Sunday .. I REALLY hope it isn’t too bad outside.

I just invested in some awesome spandex and an underarmour long sleeved shirt. My run yesterday was soooo windy and cold … but those two items along with a puffy vest and gloves kept me warm enough!!!

Have a great day, Happy Bday to your brother 🙂

Good Morning, Meghann!
I LOVE the beanie! You look so cute 🙂 I also love your snowman bowl- it’s adorable.

Sorry about the cold and it messing up your plans for a morning run 🙁 I live in Chicago and hate this time of year because it really messes with my running plans, too. I really can’t tolerate the cold so I do rely on my treadmill A LOT at this time of the year! It may be boring, but at least I can get a good quality run in!

I love the Chobani yogurts! I like to eat the strawberry & blueberry as desserts after dinner. They have just the perfect amount of sweetness and are so thick & creamy that I feel like I’ve indulged. I also love the plain and have that a lot as snacks with either granola or sliced almonds on top. They are so yummy!

Have a wonderful day!

Ok – first of all, you look great in that hat!! And second of all, I did a little “oh!” when I saw that bowl because it was love at first sight. Where on Earth did you find such a glorious creation? Haha – I’m a little over the top aren’t I?

I hope your bro had a good birthday!
