Bloggers Unite

by Meghann on October 9, 2008

Ughh.. I’m so stuffed. I have definitely ate way to much today. Stuffing myself two meals in a row is never a good idea. At least the two meals I stuffed myself at were very yummy and with good company. I will be happy to get back to my at home eating routine tomorrow. 🙂

Tonight I met up with Caitlin & Jordan at Wildside BBQ for a little blogger get together.

It’s always fun to meet bloggers in real life, its actually becoming a new hobby of mine. Jordan and her friends were in Orlando for Halloween Horror Nights, so Caitlin and I met up with them downtown to chow down before they made their way to the theme park.

Jordan arrived baring gifts!

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies!

She assured us there is nothing healthy about these cookies and that they are melt in your mouth delicious. I tried half of a cookie and let me tell you they really are delicious!

As you can see my bag is proudly marked with No Infections so I wouldn’t have to worry about needing penicillin while eating them! haha (I Guess you had to be there?) 🙂 While planning the get together Jordan had asked if any of us were allergic to walnuts (which Caitlin is), this led to the pronouncing of our allergies (mine being penicillin) so Jordan assured me that I would not have any allergic reactions to these. Thanks for looking out for us Jordan!

Caitlin had a coupon for a free appetizer so we started off with the BBQ Chicken Crostini french bread topped with tomato concasse, smoked BBQ chicken and Monterey Jack cheese.

I had a piece of the appetizer and wish I would have ordered this as my whole meal. It was so good and the BBQ sauce was nice and sweet. I ate about half of the lettuce on the plate as well. It was just kind of staring at me so I kept picking at it. 🙂

For my main meal I went with the Portabella Burger marinated portabella mushroom grilled and topped with roasted red peppers, roasted garlic ailoi, marinated greens and Gorgonzola cheese. The burger came with a side of coleslaw and chips.

The burger was good, but very messy. It had too much sauce on it, I wish I would have asked for the sauce on the side. I ate the whole burger, a few chips and two bites of the coleslaw. I also had some of Jordan’s Seared Tuna. She ordered it ‘as rare as you can legally serve it’ just how I like it. 🙂

It was Jordan’s friend’s birthday so they ordered Deep Fried Cheesecake.

I have honestly never had deep fried cheesecake before so I decided to give it a whirl and had a bite. I think Caitlin said it best when she called it a ‘cheese stuffed churro.’ It was good, but I think if you deep fry anything it’s going to be amazing. 🙂

It was fun meeting up with Jordan and actually talking to her face to face. We had a ton to talk about and she loved the fact that she wasn’t the only taking pictures of her food! Next time in Jacksonville we shall meet up again. Until then I hope they had an awesome tine at Halloween Horror Nights!

Speaking of Halloween Horror Nights, my Sis called me today to let me know she had a bonus check from work she wanted to blow on something fun so she bought us tickets to Halloween Horror Nights for tomorrow night! I go every year, but wasn’t going to be able to afford it this year so I was uber-excited when she called me! I can not wait!! What haunted Halloween events do you guys attend where you’re from?!?! All of the theme parks around here go crazy over Halloween and scary events, but of course Universal is always the best! 🙂

Tomorrow is Friday!! WOo hoo!!

A Birthday Lunch

October 9, 2008

Lunch today was fabulous! I have come to the conclusion that I am not a fan of ‘fast food’ places during lunch, but sit down restaurants (especially when someone else is paying!) are always welcomed in my book. J To celebrate my Supervisor’s birthday, a co-worker and I took her to Brio Tuscan Grill. I more »

$1 Ab Ball

October 9, 2008

How many of you have seen the infomercials for the Bender Ball? For those of you who have not, the Bender Ball is a small squishy ball that you use to assist your self in crunches to give a full range of motion. I am a TV junkie so I see these commercials all the more »
