First of all, I would like to thank Erin and Andrea at Care to Eat for selecting my recipe for Applesauce Pork Burgers as a runner up in the Apple Secret Ingredient contest! I was so excited to receive the news, I’ve never won any sort of cooking/ recipe contest before so I was a happy girl last night! I can’t wait to receive my prize of Dave’s Killer Bread! I selected the Nuts n’ Grains version and will be sure to give and ample review when it arrives.

After spending so much time last night mapping a new run for this morning, I was extremely disappointed when I discovered it was raining when I woke up this morning. I guess my new run will have to wait for another day.
Instead of running I decided to go check out my apartment’s little gym. I have walked through there a couple of times on my way to the pool, but had never actually used any of the equipment.
I went thinking I was going to do the elliptical but the first one I hopped on made a squeaking noise when I moved the pedals, so I tried the second one, which made the exact same noise. Damn. Then I thought I would try the stair master. I stepped on, but no matter which buttons I pressed nothing came on. Damn again. Next option, the bike. I hopped on and started pedaling. No noise, good sign so far. So I started pressing buttons and the thing actually came on. Another good sign. I selected the hill course and pumped it up a few levels. I hadn’t been on a stationary bike since probably sophomore year of college. I remember it being easier then, maybe it was the course I selected, but I actually had a very tough 30 minute work out on the bike. I think next time I will try to do more of an interval work out because that hill was just a non stop battle. I did feel like I got a good work out though and was plenty sweaty at the end of my ride. J
After the bike I did some free weight work with my arms. Nothing major, but it made how much I desperately miss my personal trainer I had. I remembered very little of what he taught me and was randomly doing arms moves that I could remember. I miss Justin. L
Breakfast this morning involved the most delicious strawberries ever! I bought these at the Farmer’s Market on Saturday and am thoroughly impressed with how they’ve held up. I will have to go back again this Saturday to see if the same vendor has some more wonderful strawberries!

- ½ cup Kashi Go Lean Crunch
- ¾ cup 365 Brand Peanut Butter Puffs
- 3 spoonfuls Unsweetened Applesauce
- 4 chopped strawberries
