My Rest Day

This morning it was interesting waking up and not going straight to work out mode; not something I’m used to at all.  It was nice being able to sleep in until 7:00 instead of waking up at 5:30 this morning. I know I wanted to take a rest day to keep my legs loose for my 15k tomorrow but after last night’s multiple indulgences I felt like I could have used some type of exercise this morning, maybe I’ll take Abbie for a nice long walk at the park after work. J

Caitlin and I have once discussed that you know you’ve over done it the night before when you wake up not hungry. I usually wake up starving and head straight to the kitchen for my half of a z-bar before even taking my dog out. This morning I woke up not feeling hungry at all. I got up, took Abbie out, took a shower, played online and just waited to feel hungry. This was a big sign those extra bites of dessert might have been a bit over the top. I don’t regret any of my food choices, I know it will even out in the end, I just need to remember how much I hate that feeling of knowing when I overdid it.


When I did eventually feel hungry, I decided a nice bowl of cereal was in order. I had some left over apple needing to be eaten in the fridge so I chopped that up and added it to ½ cup of Kashi Go Lean and ¾ cup of 365 Brand Peanut Butter Puffs. I topped my cereal with the last bit of applesauce in the fridge (*mental note buy more apple sauce).


I picked up the Peanut Butter Puffs over the weekend just to ad a sweet nutty touch to my cereals. I grew up on Reeses Puffs cereal and these remind me of the good ole days but with about ¼ of the sugar content. They are just the right amount of sweetness, just like the PB Puffins except about $2 cheaper. I highly suggest picking these up next time you’re at Whole Foods for a cheaper Puffins alternative.

I’m excited for another great weekend ahead.  I can’t believe I will be running my first 15k tomorrow!! I am very excited because Caitlin and I have decided to run the race side by side. I know she will motivate me to stay on track with my pacing and water consumption. I’m also excited my Dad (and maybe my Mom) will be there to watch me race. When I lived 4 hours away they never got a chance to come to my races, but now that I am 45 mins away its no problem. J

Now I just have to get through a whole day of meetings until the weekend begins!

yum – those peanut butter puffs sounds great because Reeses Puffs are really GOOD. Good luck at the race tomorrow!

The Office wasn’t dissappointed! I meant I thought that would be the most exciting part of my night – and then cops showed up at my door! LOL!

No – the Office was HYSTERICAL – you will love it! 🙂 I won’t go any further though so I don’t spoil any of it for you! 🙂

I’m SO excited for you guys! Ahh and I think it’s SOOOO great that you two can train and run in races together, keeping each other up and happy! I wish I had you girls around here! 😉

I totally know what you mean about being hungry in the morning – I tend to snack at night and it’s so annoying when I wake up not hungry!
