Whoa! Where the heck did I disappear to? My apologies for dropping the ball here. It’s been a crazy past couple of months and I feel like time sort of got away from me.
Let’s play a game of catch-up on what’s going in in our lives…
For starters, Annalynn started a new school and we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it.
It’s just down the street from her old school, but I love the teachers and the set-up of the new school so much more. It feels like she’s in an actual school now and not just a daycare. She’s also grown and learned so much in the month she’s been there. She knows some of her colors now, can count up to 10, and sings along with songs. I’ve loved watching her grow in such a short amount of time.
We transitioned Annalynn to a toddler bed.
I owe a full post on this one. It wasn’t something we were planning on doing, but sort of became a “why not?” in the moment. Details to come.
Derek and I have binge watched 10 seasons of Big Bang Theory.
Yes, I know, we’re way behind on this one, but this show is so funny. We’ve definitely been missing out on it for the last decade.
And, oh yeah, our offer was accepted on a new house!
(Annalynn is pumped her new house comes with her own playset!)
Long story short, Derek and I have been looking for a new house since the spring. While we do love our current home and its location, there are just a handful of things that don’t exactly work for our family anymore. Our original plan was to build and we fell in love with the perfect floor plan in an adorable neighborhood about 15 minutes from our current home. Unfortunately, things didn’t exactly work out with that house and we decided to walk away. While we had our hearts set on the new build, our realtor kept sending us home options that fit our long list of “musts” to give us an idea of what else is out there. We‘ve toured a couple of the listings he’s sent, but nothing really struck out to us. Then the other week we toured a house that fit the majority of our “musts” and had a great price and location. We put an offer in the next morning and it was accepted that afternoon.
As you can imagine, it’s been a whirlwind since then. Our goal is to put our house on the market ASAP, which means we’ve been decluttering, cleaning, and repairing things we’ve been living with for the last 3 years to get it in tip-top shape for the move. With the holidays approaching it’s not exactly the wisest time to put a house on the market, but our fingers are crossed that the right buyer will find us.
So that’s our big updates for now. Stay tuned for more fun to follow!
