#WDWMarathonTraining Week 8

Done with week eight and feeling great!

For some reason I struggled a little more this week than the week before, but was overall really pleased with all of my runs.

Monday

  • Distance: 3 mi
  • Time: 31:51
  • Pace: 10:41

My last treadmill run at my old office gym. *sniff* Unfortunately my new office does not have a fitness center, so I’ll have to figure out another way to get my Monday speed training in. Maybe it’s time to check out the track at the high school near me and see if it’s available Monday mornings.

Wednesday

  • Distance: 3 mi
  • Time: 31:40
  • Pace: 10:32

Annalynn got up right when I was about to head out the door, so I was delayed about 10 minutes nursing her. The good news is she went back to sleep, the sad news is I had to cut my run short by a mile. I could have used the crying baby as an excuse to drop the run completely, so I’m proud I was still able to get out there.

Friday

  • Distance: 4 mi
  • Time: 42:18
  • Pace: 10:34

Running to Daycare

I had another successful daycare drop off with the jogging stroller. Two miles to daycare and two miles back. I really enjoy dropping Annalynn off at daycare in the jogging stroller and look forward to more opportunities to do so in the future.

Saturday

  • Distance: 8 mi
  • Time: 1:25:52
  • Pace: 10:43

Ugh. That run was brutal. I felt great during last week’s 7 miles and was hoping for a similar run this week. That did not happen. It basically felt like the run that just dragged on and on. By the end I had zero motivation left and was walking more than running. It’s not that the weather was terrible or anything, I just felt off. I also need to look at running with some nutrition in the future. I’m at the breaking point where nutrition is starting to be a necessity during my long runs.
