Pregnancy: 32 Weeks

We’ve made it to 32 weeks. Baby girl is now the size of a large jicama.

The sun had already set by the time we took this week’s photo so the lighting is a little wonky. Oh well.

Baby girl had another big week. We had our 32 week appointment on Thursday. The good news is that baby girl is growing right on schedule. She’s still measuring in the 45th percentile with a guesstimate weight of 4 lbs 3 oz. She’s also turned since our last appointment, unfortunately she turned in the opposite direction then what we wanted. She’s now butt down with her head right below my left ribcage. The doctor has assured me she still has plenty of time to turn head down and plenty of room to do it in.

Since we’re down to every-other-week appointments, then every week after 36 weeks, they went ahead and scheduled the rest of my doctor appointments until my due date. Seeing all of those doctor appointments on my calendar definitely makes everything feel more real. We’re getting close!

My sister and sister-in-law threw Derek and I an incredible running-themed baby shower over the weekend. Seriously, it was amazing.

I’ll write a separate post with all of the shower details, but it was perfect. Derek and I are so grateful to have so

many generous friends and family members. We are now stocked with baby gear and can’t wait to finish the nursery in the coming weeks.

It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve been able to run and I’m okay with that. Maddie and I have been enjoying our long walks every morning and it’s a lot better on my growing belly. Unfortunately the maternity belt I ordered a few weeks ago was not the miracle cure I was hoping for. I still had issues with cramping and didn’t want to push myself through that. Sometimes it’s better to listen to our bodies and now when they’ve had enough.

Still, I’m thankful to have been able to run up to 28 weeks and can’t wait to return to running after birth. Until then I’m a walking machine!

I think that’s it for this week. Can’t wait to see what 33 weeks brings!

That baby shower is adorable! I also stopped running about 25-26 weeks. Occasionally I’ll jog for 1/4 a mile when I’m on the treadmill but that’s the most I can do now (37 weeks.) I’m already looking at races I can do postpartum! Not for time, but something to motivate me to get back into running regularly.

Glad to hear things are going well! It’s crazy once you get to the every other week appointment point- it seems so far off in the beginning!

When I got to your stage of pregnancy, I found water workouts to be my saving grace. I was in the pool with the senior citizens doing water aerobics and it was a blast.
