Hello, old friend.
I wasn’t having the best day last week, but as soon as I came home and saw the familiar teal logo on the box waiting for me at my front door, it was an instant mood booster. There’s nothing like a fresh shipment of clothes to turn any frown upside down. 😉
It’s been a while since I’ve done a Stitch Fix review. I’ve still been receiving them on a monthly basis, I just haven’t been the best at photographing them before deciding what to keep/send back. This week I was on my A game and managed to take a few pics before heading to the post office.
For those unfamiliar with Stitch Fix, it’s an online service where you pay a $20 styling fee and a Stitch Fix stylist picks out a few items she thinks you’ll enjoy based on a personal survey/ feedback from previous fixes. The fixes are shipped when you request them, or you can set-up automatic fixes. When the fix arrives, you pay for what you keep and return what you don’t (in the pre-addressed return envelope). If you keep everything, you receive a pretty sweet discount.
So what did I get? Let’s see:
Pixley Layna Textured Fit & Flare Dress
I really wanted to like this dress. I have a baby shower next weekend and thought this dress would be a good fit for the occasion. When I first pulled it out, I was all set to keep it without even trying it on. But then I came to my senses and did try it on.
Meh. It didn’t do anything for me. The neck was high, the hemline was short, and the color combination was really unflattering. This dress just didn’t work.
Skies are Blue Smith Ruffle Front Blouse
Another item I knew I wanted as soon as I opened the box. I loved the bright color, fun ruffles, and shape. Plus, I could really use more tank tops in my life.
Unlike the dress, my opinion didn’t change when I put the shirt on. It’s really comfortable, flattering, and just fun enough to justify a date night.
Liverpool Rizzo Pull-On Skinny Ponte
My stylist has a mission of finding a pair of black pants I actually enjoy. This is my third pair in three shipments, but I was afraid this was another pair that wasn’t going to make it. The first time I tried them on they didn’t impress me. However, I put them on again for these photos and had a sudden change of heart. These weren’t just any black pants, they were comfortable leggings in disguise of black pants.
You see that? Stretchy waist! No buttons, no zipper, just some stretchy elastic. Pretty awesome.
I’ve worn them to work twice now and totally love them. These pants are really comfortable and perfect for those days you really don’t feel like wearing pants with buttons. They’re extra stretchy, extra comfortable, and look great. Love.
Olive & Oak Mulliken Raglan Striped Knit Shirt
So soft… I can’t get over how soft and comfortable this shirt is. I own approximately one-hundred and one striped shirts – what’s another one?
Market and Spruce Sam Hi-Lo Short Sleeve Tee
Another soft shirt. I almost kept this shirt because of how soft it is. But in the end it’s just a plain t-shirt and my closet is full of plain t-shirts I never wear. Meh.
Let’s see, that’s three keeps and two returns. Not a bad fix! I already put in a request for cozy, warm clothes for next month’s fix in preparation for next month’s trip to Switzerland. I can’t wait to see what I get it!
What to you think? What would you have kept and what would you have sent back?
