As of tomorrow (at around 2:00pm), I will have officially have been writing this blog for FIVE years.
Happy Birthday, Meals and Miles! You’ve come a long, long way, my friend.
If you’re interested in the history of Meals and Miles, check out THIS PAGE for a look back at the big moments of the last five years.
I think the last year in particular has been a big one for the ole blog. Not only did I marry my best friend back in January, but I also went back to a 9-5 job in March and started Ironman training in May. In the process of those three major life changes, Meals and Miles began to take on a different vibe. After posting three times a day, nearly every day of the last four years, I cut back to only posting a few times a week and stepped back from sharing every detail of my life (including what I ate). I’m still trying to figure out what my new voice is and, honestly, I’m in the middle of a bit of a blogger identity crisis. Definitely struggling with the fact that “it’s okay” not to post everyday. So weird.
My life has changed so much (for the better!) since I started this blog way back in 2008. I was just a kid then, only 23 and barely a year out of school. Now I’m a wife! I have a new last name! I work in an industry that I love and I have the world’s most amazing friends. Life is busy (really, really busy), but that’s life for you.
Thank you for sticking with Meals and Miles as it morphs and folds and who knows where it goes from here. This blog is my life and will hopefully continue to be for another 5 years. Thank you for reading, offering advice, offering support, and letting me continue to be me. You guys are amazing, and definitely what keeps me sticking around.
Happy 5 years, Meals and Miles!
