Meghann — I’ve never commented on your blog before, and I honestly thought some of your wedding posts were a tiny bit “over-the-top”. But this video — WOW — it is seriously awesome. You BOTH look so happy. Congrats to you!
I’ve got to say, as a bride-to-be, I can’t even tell you how invaluable Meghann’s wedding posts have been to me. SERIOUSLY, I don’t know how I would have succeeded so far without her posts. I may be able to see how it could be perceived as over the top, but I think it’s easy enough to just pass them by if you aren’t interested. Her attention to detail has made my wedding planning so much easier.

I agree. I found it hard to relate to planning even on websites like Offbeat Bride and Practical Wedding. Seeing someone who has a lifestyle like mine plan a wedding piece by piece is how it really clicked for me and turned it from something so daunting to something I am really excited about.

I love Practical Wedding, Offbeat Bride, the Knot — but they can be overwhelming and sometimes make me feel like I should do nothing but wedding plan all day if I want everything to come together.
It’s nice to have information and insight from a REAL person who manages to plan a (beautiful!) wedding while working AND blogging AND staying active and healthy, etc.!
I honestly just meant to share that I have not been reading in detail or commenting on Meghann’s wedding posts, but I thought this video was SUPER awesome. I find compliments more meaningful when they are unexpected instead of getting a “how sweet” or “great idea” from the same folks over and over again. Wishing you Ladies all the best with your wedding planning. (Yes, it is stressful and overwhelming but, speaking from experience, you will be so happy and proud of the results!)

Holy shmoly this is amazing. I am such a sucker for musical montages, I even made one with one of my friends at the end of our senior year of high school, using videos we’d taken throughout the last couple of years with our group of friends. I am definitely going to have something like this made whenever I get married. I adore this song too ever since I saw it in “500 Days of Summer”. How wonderful that you have this to cherish!

I have to be honest. You posted so much about your wedding that at times it didn’t feel genuine as I felt overwhelmed with information.
But, this is SO CUTE and I loved watching it. I actually watched twice. There is so much love and excitement, it really made me smile. I am so glad you posted it because the genuine feelings really come through on video. I love the part where you clasp your hands over your mouth after looking in the mirror. It was perfect! I totally remember that feeling!

The videographers were separate from the photographer. They were a husband and wife team who are good friends of ours and did the video as a gift.

Whew!!!!! Girl that is SO SWEET!!! That’s the type of video we were looking for – cinematography vs. standard videography. I LOVED THAT!!!!!! I hope ours comes out as adorable. The love just oozes from the film and I feared up so many times watching it.

Anyway, I just HAD to tell you that your wedding video is honestly one of the most beautiful things I’ve EVER seen. There was so much raw emotion and love that was captured on film in a way that I didn’t even know was possible. Wow. I was an avid follower from 2011 through last fall when I had to take a blogging hiatus. I just came back and am revisiting all of my old blog “friends” and I can’t tell you how sad and happy I am at the same time to go through and see how your wedding went. I left right when you were in the throws of planning and to suddenly see the fininshed product and how happy the two of you are together is so awesome yet I’m sad I couldn’t hang in there for the journey. I never thought I would want a videographer at my wedding… until I saw this video and found my eyes filling with tears. It was beautiful.
Oh my gosh. I was thisclose to holding it together until that moment with the cake when Derek grabs you and kisses you, face full of icing. The whole video just exudes the love you two have for another, but that just brought the tears and kept ‘em coming.
Love that you captured your special day this way – the videographers did an amazing job!
