I woke up feeling a little better and decided to take a chance at swim practice this morning. I told my coach up front that I wasn’t feeling good and to take it easy on me today, luckily he listened. There were only four of us at practice so instead of doing drills or speed sets, we did an easy 300 warm-up followed by several easy 50s where coach watched and corrected our form after every set. It was a lot of minor corrections that made a lot more sense when he was giving them after every 50, as opposed to every 200 or 300.
I felt okay while moving in the water, but all the standing around left me feeling chilly and tired. Thankfully practice got out 15 minutes early today (woo hoo) and I’m pretty sure you’ve never seen anyone hop out of a pool faster.
After a shower at home, I made a Pumpkin Protein Smoothie for breakfast.
One of my current favorite obsessions (I think this was my 3rd one this week!)
In the mix:
- plain Chobani
- vanilla whey protein powder
- peanut butter
- pumpkin spice
- cocoa strawberry granola
Remember when I first got my Keurig and I was complaining that the K-cups packs were a little weak for my liking?
Well, I think I finally found a flavor that’ll put hair on my chest (figuratively speaking, of course )
The Sumatran Reserve arrived the other week as part of my monthly K-Cup Ambassador care package and man, oh man this coffee is STRONG. It’s too strong for Derek (he had 1/2 a cup before giving up on it) and maybe even a little borderline for my taste (I wouldn’t drink it everyday, but when I’m in the mood for something super bitter it’s my new go-to choice). I’m just happy to know that there are extra bold K-cup packs out there, you just have to dig for them.
The Sumartran Reserve is a Green Mountain Fair Trade Certified™Organic coffee. Fair Trade means coffee farmers get a fair price for their beans. That means they can invest in their crops, their communities, and their future. To help spread the word about Fair Trade, Green Mountain Coffee created a month-long awareness campaign “Great Coffee, Good Vibes, Pass it On” that celebrates Fair Trade and encourages customers to purchase Fair Trade Certified™products. Fair Trade means better coffee for you, and better life for farmers.
They also enlisted the help of musicians Grace Potter and Michael Franti to help spread the message by taking them to Sumatra so they could see, first hand, the difference that Fair Trade makes in the lives of coffee farmers – and how it makes a difference in your cups. You can check out Facebook.com/GreenMountainCoffee to watch videos of Grace and Michael’s experiences at coffee farms, and to enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a trip to Costa Rica, one of the many locations where Green Mountain Coffee Fair Trade Certified™ coffee is grown. (how cool of a trip would that be?!)
In honor of National Fair Trade Month, all Green Mountain Coffee Fair Trade Certified™ are currently on sale AND you can use the discount code GMCFTC8170 for an additional 10% of you purchase when you order online. (discount code is good through November 5th!)
As an added bonus, I also have a little giveaway for you.
How cute is this?
That’s right, I have a very cute bright orange Keurig® Mini Plus Brewing System and a box of Fair Trade Certified™ Pumpkin Spice to give away to one lucky reader.
p.s. The Pumpkin Spice k-cup packs are my FAVORITE. I may or may not have bought up the entire stock up at Target earlier this month.
So how do you win? That’s the easy part. Leave a comment below letting me know your favorite Fair Trade Certified™coffee flavor is!
You have until Monday at 8:00am to enter, at that time I will draw a random winner and contact them via email.
