I had to skip swim practice this morning. Derek’s car is still in the shop and we’re still a one-car family until it’s out. I missed the team, but the gym wasn’t a bad alternative.

I warmed-up with a 15 minute walk on the treadmill, then pulled up a saved workout I had pinned on my phone.

I had pinned the Wedding Day Arms Workout months ago (I’m getting married in a few months, I would like killer arms, it was a no-brainer re-pin), but it was only recently I saw the pinned workout pop up on Katy’s blog. After her glowing review of the tough arm workout, I knew I needed to try it too.
And, let me tell you, Katy was not kidding.
I did the workout twice and had 15lb dumbbells for some moves and 20lb dumbbells for others. My arms felt like jello by the end. This workout has officially made its way to my rotation of favorite weight workouts.
Post-gym I was more than ready for breakfast.

Today is the LAST day of the #SurviveOn35 challenge. It has been a really eye-opening experience, and I can’t wait to share all of my final thoughts in tomorrow’s wrap-up post.

Day 7 Breakfast:
- 1/2 cup rolled oats: $0.14
- 1/2 mango: $0.50
- Total: $0.64

We’re running low on milk, so I left it out of the oats and just stuck with water. The oats weren’t creamy as they usually are, but the mango did add some nice sweetness and bulked it up a tad.
Now I’m ready to start my day.
Have a great Tuesday everyone!

That mango looks SO good. I’ve been craving them for days. Now I’m actually going to have to go get a few.

I hope the arm workout gets you the results you’re looking for. It sounds pretty hardcore! The mango with oatmeal looks delicous. Way better than the cold cereal I had for breakfast.

the challenge is opening up my eyes to how lucky i am to be able to afford food to fuel my workouts! Your breakfast for example – zero healthy fats or protein! I will cherish my nutbutters…

I agree with that statement. I miss my nutbutters.
haha you’ll have them back tomorrow! I can’t wait to hear everything you have to say about this!

I’ve been so intrigued by the Survive On 35 Challenge, and have enjoyed following all of the bloggers taking on the challenge. I can’t wait for your final wrap-up! I think my husband and I may do this challenge at home. We’re so blessed to afford so many great options for meals–I think this would be really eye opening!

That’s one of my favorite arm workouts! Danica creates amazing strength workouts in general, and that’s one of my go-to workout for arms (even though the only wedding days I have in my foreseeable future are for other people, but you know.)

That arm workout looks awesome! I have no need for “wedding day arms” since I’m single, but maybe they’ll help me get a man!

I read thru the whole workout and then I saw the repeat – that one set alone looks enough for me! I’ll have to bring this to the gym next time I go & see how much I can do
That is a lot of exercises for one workout. I think I prefer fewer, more intense exercises than a whole bunch of endurance style ones.

Seeing this challenge makes me thankful I’m able to buy the food that I can! I’m a student so I whine a lot about the whole “broke-student” thing and having to budget myself in the grocery store – but considering what some people have to live off of I’m a lot of more grateful for what I can afford!

Looks like a great workout! You’re lifting some serious awesome weight, too! And if you want awesome wedding arms, try a boxing class – super fun and serious toning!

I know you’re on the challenge or whatever, but seriously this breakfast is 150 calories. You easily burned more than that in your workout, nevermind what you need to consume to meet your basic survival needs (if you were just lying in bed all day long, which clearly you’re not). This project in the context of some of your documented issues w/ food seems just like another excuse to restrict.
I found that New Rules of Lifting for Women combined with an adequate amount of protein gave me killer arms, legs and stomach at the same time.
Sorry to break this to you, but you can’t get shapely arms without properly refueling yourself after a strength workout. A mango is full of carbs and sugar. Try a high protein meal like eggs, string cheese, or cottage cheese.
