Good Morning!
Sunday = rest day.
Lots of sleep, lots of lounging around in robes (still in mine actually), and lots of good eats.

It was a bit of a yellow-themed meal.
Last night’s leftover cornbread ($0.19)

2 scrambled eggs ($0.28)

1/2 mango ($0.50)

#SurviveOn35 Breakfast Total: $0.97
(Derek had the same thing, but with three eggs. Total: $1.11)
Love me some eggs. A great cheap protein source that keeps me full and satisfied.
Now if only can nix this darn sweet tooth that has me craving nothing but cereal and yogurt every morning. I try to balance it out (eggs some morning, and cereal others), but cereal usually wins.
Surviveon35 Fundraiser: Let’s Raise $10K for Families!

It started with a challenge.
Anytime Fitness challenged 10 bloggers to eat healthy for a week on just $35 and called it#SurviveOn35.
Now, we’re upping the ante.
We’re asking you to help us give the gift of healthy cooking to those who need it most.
Your donation will go to Cooking Matters, an origanization that teaches low income families how to prepare healthy, affordable meals.
Any amount gets us closer to our $10K goal, so please chip in $5, $10, $25 or more today.
Please contribute now!
Cooking Matters is a great organization that I’m happy to be support. Derek and I are committing to donate the $50 we estimated we’re saving this week by not dining out. Won’t you join us?

Mangos and oranges are on sale at my supermarket this week too. I got 2 huge oranges and 2 huge mangos for 2.00 total today. I might end up with a yellow/orange dinner.

Eggs are definitely a fantastic and cheap source of protein. I usually hard boil a bunch one day and eat them throughout the week as a snack or part of meals. Super easy!
