Just What I Needed

by Meghann on May 10, 2012

I have a confession – not every yoga class is a good one. Some are just ok. The last class I attended at my new yoga studio (thanks to a Groupon deal!) was just ok. It didn’t have me dying to go back, which explains my two week absence.

However, tonight’s class? Tonight’s class was awesome. It was the same class, same time slot, but a different teacher. This teacher had a little more experience and kicked the class up a notch. It was a *warm* flow class, and by the end I was sweatin’ up a storm and becoming shaky in my poses. The whole class was just the post-marathon detox I needed. I sweated out all the toxins my body was holding onto and left the studio feeling like a whole new person.

The best part about the class was that my legs felt great. Sure, some poses were harder to hold than others, but it was a complete 180 from the yoga podcast I did Tuesday morning! I think I’m ready to attempt a run in the morning. :)

Before class, I had a handful of mixed nuts while working in Starbucks.

Not going to lie, I was very tempted when the Starbucks’ Frappuccino “Happy Hour” started (1/2 priced frappuccinos from 3-5 until the 13th) and the Starbucks was suddenly full of folks ordering very delicious looking frappucinos (I saw a few walk out with 4 or 5 of them!). But I stuck with my iced coffee. I figured Derek and I could get 1/2 priced fraps together on Saturday if I still wanted one then. ;)

After yoga class, I made a very quick stir fry with roasted bok choy for dinner.

Stir fry:

  • carrots
  • onion
  • snap peas
  • corn
  • tempeh
  • brown rice
  • peanuts
  • sesame oil
  • soy sauce

The boy choy was roasted at 400 for 20 minutes with some red pepper flakes and sesame oil. The results were delicious! The leaves reminded me of “kale chips” and sort of melted in your mouth.

I had some key lime cookies from a generic gift box for dessert.

I hear ya, Maddie. I’m ready for bed too.

How can a dog who sleep 8 hours a day be so ready for bed at 9:00pm? It boggles my mind! ;)

Good Night!

Sprouts

When feeling down, there’s nothing better than a puppy companion to see you through it. “What? I didn’t do nothin’” In all seriousness, I’m feeling loads better. The migraine came and went and my stomach has felt 100% since. Thank goodness. Migraines + stomach sickness = no fun. No fun at all! Lunch was fantastic. more »

I can’t believe I haven’t shared this yet! Derek and I have a photographer! My cousin Andrea (Andrea Hubbell Photography) is an AMAZING photographer. Throbbing

May 10, 2012

I didn’t feel too hot when my alarm went off this morning. My head had been killing me all night and getting up didn’t help. My plan was to attempt to run this morning, but just taking Maddie outside proved to be a challenge – by that point my head was throbbing so much, I more »
