Happy Birthday, Kelly!!!!!
My little sister is 25 today! Now, when did she go and get all grown up?
24 was a big year for Kelly – she got engaged, earned her masters in anthropology, became a teacher, completed her first half ironman, PRed at the Flying Pig Marathon, and planned her wedding. BUT 25 is looking to be even bigger with even more exciting events, goals, and challenges in the near future.
Happy Birthday, Lil Sis! Here’s to the start of your mid-twenties and all the adventures that lie ahead.
We may be getting older, but we can still rock the races with the best of them. 😉
I’m still recovering from my “marathon hobble.” Getting out of bed was easier than yesterday, but I’m still not ready to run. I may give it a try on Thursday, until then walking works just fine for me. Maddie and I went for a little walk around the neighborhood and I was happy with just that.
I was really craving a nice and easy yoga class for today, but the earliest yoga class my studio offered started at 9:30am – a little too late for me. In the end, that was probably a good thing. I downloaded Yoga for Runners from YogaDownload.com and found myself really needing to push myself to get through the 20 minute podcast. My muscles were all super tight and the idea of touching my toes or even staying in rag doll position for very long was torture. The podcast concentrates on hip openers and leg stretches – all stuff my body needed this morning, but also stuff that my body wasn’t particularly happy with. It’s weird to think that two days ago I was running a full marathon and today I was struggling to get through 20 minutes of yoga. I know recovery doesn’t happen overnight, but I’ll get there.
After my yoga podcast, I had a bowl of cereal for breakfast.
- 1/2 cup Wheat Chex
- 1/2 cup Kashi Cinnamon Go Lean Crisp
- Plain Chobani
I bit the bullet last night and finally downloaded “50 Shades of Grey.” The trilogy has been dubbed nothing more than “soft-core porn for women” which, I’ll admit, had me intrigued (especially after reading MomJovi’s review). It’s a quick read (I’m already a good chunk of the way through after one night), but it still hasn’t hooked me in just yet. Maybe I just need to get to the “good stuff.” 😉 We’ll see.
Have you read “50 Shades of Grey”? What were your thoughts?
