Operation: Scan My Parents’ Wedding Photos is coming along smoothly. 
The photos have been stuck to an adhesive binding for the last 30 years which has made them far too weak to remove from the pages. I’ve been scanning them in a page at a time then cropping them from there.
I have no doubt that there’s an easier way to do this, but this method has worked so far so why mess with it?
Check out how young my grandparents looked back then.
Wasn’t my grandmother stunning? She was only 35 when my parents were married. That’s a very, very young mother of the bride! People say we look alike. I hope so – she’s beautiful.
I started scanning the photos for blog related stuff, but now I’m thinking about doing something special with the photos since their 30th wedding anniversary is coming up in November. Any ideas?!?
Lunch today was a hit in flavor, but a miss in presentation.
I was going for pita nachos, only I went overboard with the giant green beans that eventually took over the plate. Buried under the green beans you’ll find a toasted pita flat bread that has been cut in wedges, a generous scoop of hummus, cherry tomatoes, chopped orange peppers, green onion, and cheese cubes.
After this photo was taken, I ended up eating all the green beans off first then dove into the ‘nachos’ portion of the plate. They were pretty darn good.

Ok, to narrow it down then…Peanut butter strawberry!
Question for you regarding scanning/printing pictures – I am doing something similar with pictures for our wedding (pics of my fiance and I when we were younger), but now that I have them scanned and cropped, I’m not sure of the best next step. Would you advise printing them at home or using a service (either some photo website or RiteAid or something)? Thanks!!!

I’m not sure of the right answer. Since they are scanned copies of 3×5 originals (at least that’s how they are in my case) I’m sure getting them printed won’t produce the best quality.

Definitely the chocolate raspberry flavor! As for anniversary gifts, maybe one of those photobooks you can make online and have printed professionally? My fiance’s mother made those for both of his grandmother’s 80th birthdays, and they are really beautiful! And since they’re real books, they can be passed down as a keepsake.

I am most interested in trying the Peanut Butter Strawberry! I always make smoothies with frozen strawberries, frozen blueberries and peanut butter…people think I am nuts but I love it!
For your parents anniversary, you could create postcards of pictures taken of them over the past 30-35 years, send them out to their friends/family (you have all the addresses for wedding invites already!), and have them mail them back to your parents with cute notes on the back. If you don’t tell your parents you’re doing this, it’ll be such a nice surprise the week of!
If you wanted, you could even then make a scrapbook so they have all of the postcards/notes in the same place.
Just a thought!

As for the pictures, are they having a party to celebrate? You could do a video/Vimeo/photo scrapbook to show at the party using old and new pictures. Or take Ashley’s idea (err, the brother’s wife, right?) And frame a few pictures and present them in a nice frame with the EST. 1982.

I just saw this posting from LUNA bars. I sooooooooooooooooo can’t wait to try this. I “live on LUNA bars”! My favorite which was delicious and even one of the lower calorie ones Dulce de Lece as discontinued. But I still love these LUNA bars so much. Since I can’t afford them, I received a big birthday gift in February of LUNA bars from friends and family.
I’d love to try these, esp, first the strawberry one. You’re awesome having this giveaway. Good luck to all!

This couldn’t come at a more perfect time! I had a physical last week and the doc said to up my fiber and a girl can only eat so many black beans. I’d love to try the peanut butter and strawberry.
My parents’ 30th anniversary is next month and I got a side by side photo frame and in one slot put a picture of their first dance as husband and wife and next to it put a picture of them dancing at a charity event we attended a few months ago (I asked the photographer to take a few and she offered to e-mail them to me for no charge). It’s essentially the same photo 30 years later.
