I’m loving this beautiful spring weather we’ve been enjoying in Tampa lately. It almost makes up for our warm winter. 😉
My goal for this morning’s run was 6 miles with negative splits. There was just one minor blip at the beginning when I had to turn around a quarter mile out due to an ill fitting top (I’ve been spoiled with well supported built-in-bra tank tops and accidentally grabbed an older tank top this morning that wasn’t as supportive – nothing a quick sports bra change couldn’t fix), but that was it.
For the negative splits, I tried to come down 15 seconds with each mile. I started at a natural pace and went down from there. Since it usually takes me a while to warm up – and my last miles tend to be faster – I enjoyed it.
My final splits:
- Mile 1: 8:46
- Mile 2: 8:22
- Mile 3: 8:15
- Mile 4: 8:04
- Mile 5: 7:53
- Mile 6: 8:52 <- cool down
Now if only I can pull off negative splits at Flying Pig next month. 😉
An old favorite: plain greek yogurt + almond butter + Kashi Go Lean Crisp + walnuts in a cantaloupe bowl.
