Last week we received all of our final photos from our engagement photos session with the lovely Cat.
Here are a few of our favorites:

Now that we have our engagement photos – I think the real question becomes – what the heck do we use them for?
Here’s what I’ve come up with so far:
- Wedding Website
- Save-the-Dates
- Photo album guestbook (?)
- Future Mother’s Day/ Father’s Day/ Grandparent’s Day/ Christmas presents
- Facebook profile photos (hehe)
What did you do with your engagement photos?

These are too adorable! I absolutely love them
Where is your dress in the top ones from? It’s too cute!

Those are awesome, I love them all!
We used our to create a guest book for the wedding – I used Mixbook.com to make the hard cover book and it turned out to be a awesome keepsake.
I also did a 4 photo frame of them for in our bedroom.

my brother and sister in law really just used them for their save the dates! Other than that I’m sure they had a couple framed, and sent them out to family as well.

They came out amazing – you both look so happy!
You can use them for save the dates obviously and then I’ve seen people use them on their tables at the reception for table #s. You can also have one blown up and have guests sign at wedding.

I actually didn’t have any taken, which I’m kinda kicking myself for now. Yours turned out very nice – that dress was an excellent choice for the shoot!
Love your photos! I never took engagement photos but your ideas of how you can use them are great.
We used some for Thank You cards we had printed through shutterfly
it’s always a nice touch to see a few favorite engagement photos framed at the rehearsal dinner for easy, personalized decor. [small details = big impact. that was my mantra during every event I've ever planned.]

We did a non-traditional guest book with ours. It had photos and white space and we provides markers for guests to leave messages. It is really special, because you don’t really need attendee’s names and addresses, but reading their messages again is really nice. Plus you get to share your photos with your guests.
I can’t really find a good example on the web, but I can send you some photos of ours if you are interested. I guess it was more unique than I thought.

First, the pictures are beautiful! Definitely the photos make AWESOME future gifts! We used ours as Christmas gifts (and later used the wedding photos the next Christmas!). We also used ours to make some really cute custom photo thank-you cards to use throughout the engagement. I think using them for a guestbook is also a great idea. We bought an awesome Georgia O’Keefe book of prints to use as our guestbook – but anything other than the ordinary book with lines is a good idea. It has been so fun to go back and look at the little notes people wrote, and the book looks great out on the coffee table!

Love the pictures Meghann! Use them for profile pictures!
We used ours for guest books at our wedding, matted them, and had people sign the mattes
I just started a blog http://www.foodwinemine.com come check it out!

GORGEOUS PICTURES! Oh my gosh, I love them all.
We used ours as gifts and made an album for us to keep, too. I think a guestbook would be a fantastic idea, too – and of course, Facebook profile photos!

Whatever you use them for will be fantastic because THEY are amazing! But I’d suggest a pretty arrangement on a wall in your house or a hall, with matching frames or maybe frames that come in a set.

Your photos turned out fantastic! I love the idea of using them for a guest book. I made one last year for my BFF. She now keeps it on her coffee table.
Those pics are so fun. My husband and I didn’t do engagement photos because our photographer was in a different state and we weren’t really sure what to do with them (plus my husband hates having his photo taken). But I kind of wish we had them just for fun, professional photos of us not in wedding clothes.

We made a little photo album of them for our parents for Christmas. If we had gotten them done sooner, we would have used them for our save-the-dates.
Janine @ThePurpleGiraffe recently posted..Well, they caught me… I’m going to jail.
I did use mine for family member gifts and such, but I also have one framed in my son’s room. It has been there since he was born and its one of his favorites.
We used ours for save the dates. I wrote on the pictures using picnik and then uploaded it to Costco.com. Then i ordered the “holiday card” that was only a picture. For about $50 I got 100 save the dates.
We also have used the pictures as presents for parents and granparents.

Haha sounds like you have already come up with plenty of good ideas! I blew one up and then put a thick, white mat frame around it … we had it on an easel at the reception, and everyone was able to sign the mat frame. Then we framed it to hang in our house!
Kristen @ notsodomesticated recently posted..The night a 15-minute dinner took an hour.
Honestly, I hung them around our apartment! It’s so nice having professional pictures of yourselves!
Also, maybe you could find a way to use them in your wedding-like table place cards? Or table numbers?
I always thought people took them to announce their engagement/wedding in their newspaper. Maybe I’m wrong?
We used ours on our website, as save the dates (for the wedding and two receptions), and as part of the guest book. I compiled pictures from our four years together and printed a hard back book on shutterfly and used that as our guestbook.
You could also use one without the date in it to print out picture thank you cards or for shower invites, etc. We also have various framed ones about our house and offices.
Your hair looks GORGEOUS!!!!!!

LOVE the pics! We framed a few and put them in our house. I also bought cheap mats and had people sign them at their tables at the wedding. It was fun!

They are amazing photos! Great choice of location, outfits, and photographer
I mainly wanted engagement photos so I could put our announcement in the local newspaper. Other than that I framed one. Ours weren’t nearly as pretty, though.

There are some great photos in there! I had prints made of a few engagment pics and framed them for around the house, plus OBVS fb profile pic. A couple made it into our photobook guest book (we used pics from our whole relationship, though), and we also used one for custom stamps on the invite envelopes.

We put one of ours up at our reception by the gift table. Other than that, not much! Ours were taken too late to use for Save The Dates
Your hair looks incredible! You’re going to make such a beautiful bride.

So cute! We used ours for our Save-the-Dates, FB pictures
, and we’re going to frame one at the wedding — people will sign the matte of the frame instead of a guest book.

We used ours for our Guest Sign in Book at the wedding. PEOPLE LOVED IT! You can order the book on Snapfish. That’s what we did and it was really cheap/cute. You can design it however you want. We even had some of the photos going across two pages. Then you can get a cute little table and pen to put next to it.

Love the photos. They look great! I would use them for all the above and maybe for your save the date cards?

I made a tri-fold (the long way) table number with mine. Photo on one side, table number on one side, and the menu on the other side. I should find a photo ’cause they were neat (better than they sound!). I DIYed them and people wanted to take them home, lol. We definitely used them on our wedding website and had larger prints made and put them in frames as part of our gifts for our parents. I continue to use them when I make photo calendars, etc. and I’m so glad we have them!
Your photos are wonderful! We used ours for the Save the Dates mostly. But we also framed a couple of our favorites and used them at our reception. I framed a bunch of family wedding photos for our photo table which is also where we had the guest book.
We also framed a few for my mother in law.
Adorable pictures! I did a lot of what was already mentioned:
-used them for our save the date postcards
-made a wedding guest book
-gifted larger prints to parents for Christmas
-bought a photo canvas of one of them which is hanging in our house
-put them on our wedding website
-printed and framed some for decorations at our reception
-made a calendar for my husband with them
-used one for our Christmas cards
and of course facebook
(People probably got sick of looking at pictures of us!)
Other ideas:
-use them for your table numbers
-slideshow (at wedding, or a shower)
I used them for our personal blog, our guest book, and a book I gave to him as a present. I also used them to put up all over the reception places and a few blown up ones so people could get a better look at us in ‘other’ clothes too

You can use them to have a silhouette made as well! I think Silhouettes are so cute!
Love the engagement photos!! They are GREAT!!!! You were definitely on track with your list of what to you use them for… all of which I used!! I loved our Saved the Dates (did them through Wedding Paper Divas), I made books for both of our parents to have through my Mac, and then our photographer made a photo guest book and it was a HUGE hit. I love it and it’s a great keepsake to have of all of our favorite shots and with nice notes from all (most) of the people we love. My event planner at the hotel we got married at loved it so much she took pictures of every page so she could have the same thing at her wedding. I’d be happy to send you shots of it if you’re curious what something like that looks like!! Or any other wedding details/tricks- The best one, number your RSVP cards on the back and have a list so each guest gets a number. Sounds crazy, but trust me when you can’t read someone’s response or ‘forget’ to fill it out and sends it back blank (yup, that happened to me), it’s a life saver! … I’m a little late in the game reading your blog (which I love!!!) but I love all things wedding!
Also, I was ALL over Etsy.com for details and found great prices for things I didn’t think I could (have time) to make myself. Such a great resource!
Sorry for the long comment!!
Your e-photos are gorgeous. I love the style of the shoot.
We have been using ours for thank you cards for any help we are getting at the events leading up to my wedding. This includes the people who donated to our social, helped plan the wedding shower and friends and family that help us out. We are also planning on getting one of them put on cavass for our family room.
We also used it for our guest book.
we used ours for Save the dates,
and i don’ tknow if it is a hawaii thing or an asian thing or a hawaii-asian thing, but at a lot of weddings here, people usually blow one of the engagement pictures up, frame it and have it displayed on an easel at the entrance of the reception.

We’re using our engagement photos for:
* Our save-the-date (we did a photo paperless post save-the-date)
* Our wedding website (we used Weddingwire.com and uploaded lots of photos to our page)
* Our guest book (we’re making a photo album/scrapbook for our guests to sign)
* Photo table numbers
* Albums for our grandparents
I’m so glad we did engagement photos a few months after getting engaged! It was amazing to get to know our photographers before the big day, and we treasure the photos.
I got married a million years ago (well, 18 to be more accurate) and we just had one portrait-style “engagement” photo taken. The sole purpose of that photo was to go in the newspaper. I can’t remember if there was an engagement announcement in the paper, or if the picture was used for the wedding announcement. Have to go look at the scrapbook!

Umm…. all of the above??? hahaha They’re so cute!!!
Wow they look great! We used our engagement photos in our Save the Dates and we are going to have a few displayed at our wedding!
You’re pictures are beautiful!!!!!
I never took engagement photos.
We were supposed to but then it didn’t happen and I’m still sad about it.
But if I did, I would have them in frames in the house. So how about in some of those frames in that collage you made on the wall awhile back? I think you didn’t fill all those up, right?
We had a book made and used it as the guest book. Then as thank yous for our moms I bought them digital picture frames and uploaded our favorites for them. Then gave them flash drives of wedding pics too so they could add them.
Gahhhhhh….I love them all!!! Especially the first one, the one with the boots in the foreground and the last one!
and I have no idea what else you could use them for…but I’ll certainly take the suggestions you get for whenever I get married and have them down!

I used mine for facebook, framed photo’s at the wedding (which I have in my house now), and as part of the “parent” gifts for the wedding. I bought two 8×10 digital frames and loaded all of the engagement pictures on them then gave them to my parents and my husbands parents. I planned to put the wedding photo’s on the frames too but haven’t gotten around to it yet.
Your pictures came out so great!
My photographer used one of our images to make cards to pass out at the wedding so the guests could log on to her website with the password & view our pictures once they were uploaded.

So cute! She really took some nice photographs. My favorites are the one kissing in the picture frame & the one with your head on his shoulder, smiling.
They came out beautifully! I didn’t have engagement photos done- so I have no idea! lol

We got our engagement pics after we already sent out save-the-date, otherwise I would have used them for that. I did make a photo guest book with them, which everyone loved!
I asked our mom’s which pictures they liked best, bought some really nice frames, and gave them as thank you gifts to our parents at our rehearsal dinner.
They are great facebook profile pics too
LOVE your dress and the pictures are absolutely adorable! We’re using one of our engagement pictures for our STD’s but I’ve seen a few different designs that use multiple pictures… Another idea is to make a collage of the pictures and print it as a larger piece to hang!

We got engaged just under two weeks ago and my head is spinning from all that is involved in planning our wedding! I am loving the ideas for using the engagement photos – I didn’t want them until we got engaged, and now I do, so we’re researching our options. Yours are cute!

Definitely use them for a photo guest book! We did that and I think everyone had fun writing a note next to the various photos and then people get to see them. I also sent one to the paper for the engagement announcement. We didn’t have them soon enough for save the dates, but that is a good use for engagement photos too.
