Derek is working from home today. I love it when he works from home because that means we usually enjoy lunch together, which makes meal time extra special.
You see, when Derek works from home, he typically works from the desk in the office and I take up the table in our dining area. I’m not sure why, but I prefer working at the dining table over the desk in the office. Derek thinks I’m strange because he loves working at the big desk, but I think I just prefer the open space the dining area provides. Besides, I think we would drive each other crazy if we tried to work from the same spot. We would just talk and never get any work done.
So from 8-12 we each work from our own section of the house and at noon we come together for food. Works out perfectly.
Today I made simple quesadillas. Just regular ole cheese pressed between two corn tortillas in the George Foreman and paired with salsa for dipping.
On the side I mixed some leftover quinoa with leftover green beans from yesterday’s lunch.
Simple, but good. And quick! Lunch took less than 5 minutes to make – love that!
Shabby Apple Dress Giveaway!
I’ll admit that the dress that first caught my attention online, had me scratching my head the first time I tried it on. When it first arrived the caramel color was a little richer than I was expecting and the fit was a little larger that I would have preferred (heads up – Shabby Apple dresses run big), but it grew on me. The ruched flowers on the full sateen skirt were stunning and the luxe jersey cab sleep top was so comfortable that I forgot I was wearing a dress and not jammies.
After a couple of weeks of mentally debating the dress (and packing several back-up options!) I decided to wear the dress for Christmas Eve. And you know what? I loved it!
The dress was still a size too big, but it ended up being the perfect dress for the festive occasion. It was soft, comfortable, and I kept getting compliments on the dress. This dress was a winner!
And I know this dress will work for other occasions down the road as well. My sister mentioned it would make a great bridal shower or rehearsal dress, but it could really work for any other special occasion that calls for something pretty.
