A BIG CONGRATS to Rachel Booth for taking her first coast-to-coast, back-to-back win on Sunday!

(source)
I had the pleasure of meeting Rachel at the meet-up on Friday and she’s really an incredible, inspiring woman. She had been enjoying the parks with her two kids the day before and wasn’t sure she would be able to pull off the win since she was still technically recovering from the Olympic Marathon Trials last month. Obviously she doesn’t give herself enough credit because she came in with a smokin’ 1:18:11 finish time. I guess that means she didn’t stop to take any photos with characters along the way?
This past weekend was AMAZING, but it was also GO GO GO the entire time. I didn’t make it to bed until after midnight most of the nights, our wake-up calls went from early (5:45am), to earlier (4:45am), to earliest (3:40am), and I felt the need to get the most out of exploring the Disney Parks every chance I got. To say I was exhausted last night would be an understatement. Somehow I made it all the way to 10:00pm before crashing hard as soon as my head hit the pillow.
I heard my alarm go off this morning and immediately reset it for a much later time. When it went off again, I thought it was the much later time and began to take the dogs out and start my day. It wasn’t until I was checking my phone that I realized it was only 6:30am. What? Somehow a much earlier alarm had gone off this morning (maybe it was a continuation of one of the 4 super-early alarms I set for yesterday morning?) which I assumed was my normal alarm, so when my normal alarm went off I assumed it was my later set alarm. Oh well.
I was hoping to get some extra sleep, but my alarm had other plans. I was already awake and dressed so I headed to the gym. I’m sure I’ll regret this decision later when I accidentally fall asleep on my computer at 3:00pm.
At the gym, I was proud to represent the Princess Half Marathon.

My new favorite thing is wearing my race shirts to the gym the Monday or Tuesday after. Gotta represent!
The women’s fit Princess Half tech tee is the exact same style and shape as last year’s tech tee – the only change is the updated 2012 logo on front. I loved last year’s tech tee, so I was happy to see they kept the same style. It’s a great fit and cut and really great to run and workout in.
This was the first year the Princess Half Marathon offered both unisex and women fit tech tees for the race. Personally I think that’s an awesome decision because I know the women’s fitted tees aren’t for everyone and I’m sure the men who run the race (yes, there are men who run the princess half too) appreciate the option to represent the race as well. I know my little brother was bummed they only offered women fitted tees last year.
For my workout, I warmed-up on the treadmill with a 20 minute walk and a couple of chapters of The Vow (really enjoying this, by the way) and finished with Stage 7-3 of NROLFW. This was basically the same workout as Stage 7-1, only the A portion of the workout was slightly different.
I made a parfait for breakfast.

It was simple – just layers of apple, strawberries, plain yogurt, granola, and almonds.

Exactly what I was craving!
I have so much to catch up on (I love Disney, but their free WiFi is AWFUL and made it impossible to get any work done). Bring on the caffeine! Lots and lots of caffeine!

Oh my goodness. Disney is exhausting as it is. I can’t imagine those wake up calls let alone running. You must be super human. Glad it was fun and you’re still riding the high.

I read The Vow before I saw the movie and I couldn’t believe how different they were. I guess I didn’t realize the movie was based on true events rather than the true story. I enjoyed the book but the movie kind of pissed me off…haha. Enjoy
YAY FOR FINISHERS! The Princess Half was amazing! Here’s my recap from the day:
