Derek and I were able to cross one more thing off of our wedding planning to-do list this week – we booked our engagement photo session for the first weekend of March. Woo hoo!
That gives me just over a month to track down this dress.
The dress (and the engagement photos that came with it) were featured on the Style Me Pretty Facebook page yesterday. Love. Love. Love.
Such a gorgeous couple. I love how happy and in love they are in these photos.
And I love that dress.
Must. Have. Now. :-p
Unfortunately the only versions of the dress I could find online were sold out or out of my price range.
A quick pop in at the mall this afternoon left me empty handed too.

My new mission – find an ivory lace dress for engagement photos. Any ideas?
Before the mall I had a rice cake with almond butter, walnuts, raisins, and strawberries.
Derek and I did have a meeting for a venue price quote this afternoon (which is why I was at the mall waiting for him to get off of work), but it was canceled at the last minute. Boo. The canceled meeting also canceled our plans for dinner out. No meeting meant we had no excuses not to eat the fridge full of food we had at home. Double boo.
It’s just as well. I’m sure neither our wallets nor our waistlines would have appreciated the planned bbq feast quite as much as our tastebuds would have. Instead I got creative with the rutabaga at the bottom of the produce drawer. I peeled it, steamed it, and mashed it with some fresh parsley, parmesan cheese, and milk. It came out pretty good if I do say so myself.
I spent all my creative energy on the rutabaga, so when it came to everything else I took the lazy way out. The chicken was the Oscar Meyer Carving Board Chicken Breast.
The green beans were lightly steamed in the same steamer as the rutabaga and the bread was just toasted.
It wasn’t bbq, but it was all still good.
The espresso chip ice cream helped.
Now I can’t wait to watch this (LOVED the book!)

Wow that dress is seriously gorgeous, so I hope you find something at least similar! This might be blasphemy to some, but I sometimes love looking at engagement photos more than wedding photos. There is just so much personality and fun in engagement photos.
Ahh yay! I loved engagement pics! We actually had two sessions, one quick winter one for our save-the-date and one intense spring session! It was a blast and I think my now husband even had a little fun too, once he warmed up to the idea!

I really love the blue dress you tried on! I realize it’s not ivory….. I LOVED One Day (the book). One of my favorites I read this year, it reminded me of time travelers wife, which I adore. Hope you like the movie! Anne Hathaway needs to work on her accent a bit…
Agreed – her accent is a bit rough around the edges, but I thought she did a great job evolving the character through the 18 year timeline of the movie just as the character evolved in the book.
I’ll start searching for the dress. That last one that you tried on sort of looks a little Orphan Annie. You deserve much prettier!

I don’t know if they have any ivory colored dresses, but Dear Prudence and Modern Grace boutiques here in Orlando have ADORABLE dresses and they’re usually under $30. If Katy or I go this weekend (one of us usually does most weekends! Addicted.), we’ll keep our eyes out for you! What about White House | Black Market … they usually have dresses in all shades of white, cream and ivory. Just a thought!

I have a black lace free people one from a few months ago. They should still have it, though idk if it comes in ivory. Also, check Marshalls- they get in a lot of Adrianna Papell dresses and I remember seeing a lace number similar to what you’re looking for!

You could look on ebay or recycledbride or oncewed for a lace ivory dress that is less expensive.

Search for dresses by French Connection. They have lots of lacey styles! And check out Nordstrom. I was looking for a long sleeved lace dress for my brother’s wedding earlier this month. There were tons of options! I found several at Asos.com and Bluefly.
Nastygal.com has a ton of inexpensive white/ivory/cream lace dress with long sleeves!
I’m curious to hear what you thought of One Day. I loved the book, but haven’t seen the movie yet, as it got pretty terrible reviews. I would hate to be disappointed b/c the book was fabulous!

The movie was ok. I wasn’t a fan of who they cast as Dexter and if you hadn’t read the book, it was hard to follow or understand the plot or evolution of characters.

Looks like an anthropologist dress. It came out in fall but is no longer in stores. U should be able to find it on eBay and it’s worth the price – just wear it for ur Rehersal dinner too!!

I actually really like the last dress in the photos! I used to work for InStyle and I think we had a whole wedding section on our site that might be helpful. If not Nordstrom, Macy’s and other department stores tend to have “Guest of a Wedding” “Rehearsal Dinner” fashion sections. And check out The Knot.com – it might be helpful as well

haha I went to the mall yesterday specifically hoping to find that exact dress at H&M, but my H&M didn’t have it and you can’t order it online.
Reading the comments and glad to hear you werent a huge fan of the movie either! I LOVED the book too, but felt sort of dumb for dragging all of my friends to see the movie when it was just okay.

I don’t know that they have ivory but I found the dress at Nordstrom’s (it’s on sale right now) and then I searched for the dress description on shopstyle.com and found it for 65% off. Good luck on your hunt! I wore jeans and a sweater for my engagement shoot. But that is because that is what I wear everyday. We also had our shoot at a bar with beers. They say your shoot is supposed to reflect your personality!
