Marshmallow Mayo

by Meghann on January 22, 2012

I love a yogurt shop with a sense of humor. ;)

hehe

This afternoon I met up with Callie and Ellen for some frozen yogurt at Yogurtology in South Tampa.

There are a LOT of self-serve frozen yogurt places scattered around the Tampa Bay area, but I have to say that Yogurtology is my favorite. I love the variety of flavors (oatmeal cookie is a fave) as well as the topping options of whole cookies, swiss cake rolls, candy bars, and baklava. Yum.

I played nice and took it easy with toppings (toppings are the real killer when it comes to self serve frozen yogurt!) and savored every little bite.

Our afternoon treat turned into over a 2 hour outing as we sat and talked and talked and talked about everything from Healthy Living Summit planning to what we believe makes a great race. There’s nothing better than discussing the ins and outs of ideal race day settings with a fellow runner. #runnerds

After fro-yo I hit up Whole Foods and Publix to gather supplies for a fun dinner, but upon my return home, I discovered that a football night with the boys for him, meant tofu and an ABC Family move in for her.

‘Tis the perk of having a future brother-in-law with a TV that is double the size of the one that sits in my living room. ;)

Fine by me. I was in need of a good tofu night anyways. ;)

I drizzled the tofu with bbq sauce and simply baked it for 30 minutes at 400 degrees.

While the tofu was baking, I added some sweet potato slices to the baking sheet.

And the broccoli was quickly steamed in the microwave.

My cheesy movie (A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song) called for a bowl of berries to snack on for dessert.

It was a fun weekend, but now it’s time for bed.

Good night!

The Loner

by Meghann on January 22, 2012

Happy Sunday everyone!

After an adventure filled Saturday, we took it easy around here this morning with extra sleep (yay for rest days!) and a big ole meal of comfort foods for breakfast.

Chicken breakfast sausages and eggs (cue love and praise for my griddle)

Strawberries and cherries

Toast with pumpkin butter.

Maddie played the you-left-me-home-all-day-by-myself-and-owe-me-big-time guilt card and talked us into taking her into the dog park.

IMG_6048.JPG

Ok, that’s a lie. It was more like I felt bad for leaving Maddie home all day and talked Derek into taking her to the dog park.

IMG_6050.JPG

I always have this vivid picture in my mind of Maddie running circles around the dog park and making lots of doggie friends. It’s a great pictures, but that’s not usually what happens.

IMG_6049.JPG

The truth is, Maddie is a bit of a loner at the dog park. Unless she’s with her cousins or her Uncle Scooby, she’s perfectly fine sitting at our side or sniffing the field on her own. I think she prefers the big loop we walk around the park on our way out. She loves to walk when there’s purpose and she’s on a leash. Weird dog.

I reheated some of Friday night’s leftover pasta with an extra dose of veggies for lunch.

Now that we’ve rest – it’s time for errands!

Woo hoo.

Sarcasm.

:-p
