Hi Presley!

Is he not the cutest thing you’ve ever seen?
My brother and his fiance brought the little furball home the week after Thanksgiving and one of the bonuses of coming home this weekend was finally having the chance to meet the pups.

Presley is 17 weeks old and full of energy! I’m just sad I didn’t bring Maddie with me so she could meet her new cousin, I bet they would have had a ball figuring out who could race around the living the fastest (my money’s on Maddie
).

Pure love.
The drive to my parents’ place was the same old, same old. I stopped for a non-fat latte at Starbucks along the way and took a mini detour to the mall to return a dress and pick up a present or two.
A cheese stick fueled me for my final hour of driving.

Homemade pizza with a whole wheat crust was on the menu for dinner tonight.

My parents’ fridge was pretty bare in terms of pizza topping choices. I found a lone jar of olives buried in the back that worked and cracked two eggs on top for a boost of protein (and flavor!).

The pizza cooked at 450 for 12 minutes.

The yolk was a tad runnier than usual, but I think I preferred it that way. I was able to soak up the runny yolk with the crust just as you would with runny yolk and toast. Yum.

Like I said, my parents’ fridge was bare. No fresh veggies to be found in the fridge and the only thing in the freezer was a couple of bags of cheese covered steam broccoli. There was a can of green beans in the pantry that I fancied up with some fresh crushed garlic and a heavy dose of salt and pepper.

The fresh garlic gave the beans just a touch of flavor that took them away from the typical ‘just from a can’ taste.

Dinner was consumed and enjoyed before 8:00pm thanks to the 12-hr fast I’ve been instructed to partake in before my blood is drawn in the morning. Blah. I hate being forced to ‘fast.’ As soon as someone tells me I’m not allowed to eat for a certain amount of time I’m instantly starving. Heck, I could eat right now. Is is 8:00am yet?
At least I could get an early appointment, I was worried at first when the only thing that had open was at 2:00pm. I could guarantee I wasn’t going to make a 12-hr fast if I had to wait until after 2:00pm to eat again. I would have caved. Big time.
Luckily, I’m able to sleep through the majority of the 12 hrs I’m working on right now. In fact, I’m going to get on that right now.
Good Night!

Oh man, I had to fast for a 2 p.m. appointment once and I was really grumpy at work. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, so it sucked to not be able to enjoy it!

My four year old son had to fast for tonsil surgery this morning – talk about crabby!! I’m glad I’ve never had to do that.

He’s a miniature schnauzer
Hm, never would have thought of eggs on pizza! Canned Green Beans though, that’s one that I’ve never been able to stomach, regardless of added garlic!
Presley’s super cute!

Presley is adorable! We have a 12-year-old Schnauzer named Lucy and they are the sweetest breed! We got her from a breeder when she was born and she has been so loving, gentle and smart from day one (her sister passed away but she was an angel, too!) I’m sure that Maddie will love her, too.
Awwww Presley is TOO adorable!!

I love eggs on pizzas! I had it once at a restaurant with a “farm fresh” pizza, and ever since it’s always such a great idea! Next thing on my pizza to do list is to tackle making my own crusts!

What’s funny is that I actually prefer canned green beans to fresh! It’s always been one of my quirks haha

I made a breakfast-style pasta dish earlier this week with a runny egg and it was fabulous! I was hesitant, but it worked- I’m intrigued to try an egg on top of a pizza!
