I’m a Gleek

by Meghann on September 20, 2011

It’s…… back!

Oh, Glee! How I’ve missed you! πŸ™‚

I had a late yoga class tonight that ran until 8:30. It was great – I got to stretch, relax my mind, and – when I returned home – Glee was already waiting on the DVR. It was like Christmas. πŸ™‚

Any other Gleeks out there? I thought they did a great job with the season premiere. I was sad to see some characters from last year disappear (though, honestly, I was never really sold on them anyways), but I was also happy to welcome a new favorite.

Yes, I was a closet Glee Project fan this summer. I was also a Lindsey fan. Ain’t no shame.

I’ve heard good things about this season – can’t wait to see where they go from here!

Last week I discovered seasonal Clif Bars at the local health store. Is it really time for Christmas stuff already?

Christmas season or not, I had half of the bar before my yoga class.

Yoga pretty much killed my appetite. I left ready for bed, not food. I ended up making a simple dinner of sweet potato, marinara sauce, and ricotta cheese for dinner.

I could only eat about 3/4 of it. Maybe I need to start eating dinner before yoga and having a snack afterwards?

My alarm is set for an early spin class in the morning. Must. Get. Some. Sleep.

Good Night!!

I just finished yoga too. Felt so good and now my eyes are heavy. Grapes and cheese for dinner for me bc I don’t feel like making anything!

2 Anna September 20, 2011 at 10:39 pm

I love the mash ups glee does and have to say I really enjoyed the glee project this summer.

I find that when I finish running late I’m not hungry either. I had yogurt for dinner tonight, because I didn’t want any solid food.

Also, I’m running the wine and dine next weekend and think I read that you volunteered for it last year. Do you have any tips on where my fiance could watch from? Any other tips?

Thanks so much Meghann!! Can’t wait to her about your half ironman! You’re going to rock it!

Disney is tough when it comes to spectators – there really aren’t great places. The best place would probably be in the Epcot parking lot when you’re leaving and exiting the park?! Check out the spectator pamphlet that comes with your race packet – they usually have some great advice on where to cheer!

5 Michelle September 20, 2011 at 10:42 pm

I’m a Gleek too! I’m watching the season premiere now and am giddy with excitement. Looking forward to the premiere of New Girl too–it looks cute.

6 Lindsay@LivingLindsay September 20, 2011 at 10:46 pm

I LOVED the Glee Project and was so excited to see Lindsey on tonight’s episode! They cast her role perfectly and she did a great job! I’m sad to see that Sam won’t be back, but the other girl (Puck’s girlfriend) I could honestly care less about.
I want to try those seasonal Clif bars! I’ll def look for them!

Agree about that! I can’t wait to see what they do with Sam, Damien and Alex!

I’m a TOTAL Gleek! I haven’t watched tonight’s show yet bc I don’t have cable. I plan to stream it tomorrow. Have a good night!

9 Sweet and Savvy September 20, 2011 at 10:48 pm

I’ve been following glee since the pilot episode! I was so excited to watch the premier tonight! It was great. I was hoping it’d be good, because Last season let Me down a bit.

How is that Cliff bar? I like the White Chocolate and Macadamia Nut one the best πŸ™‚ Going to watch Glee right now!!

I like it! The pumpkin flavor is very subtle, but it’s a nice change from the extra sweet chocolate ones.

12 Katie @ Peace Love and Oats September 20, 2011 at 11:06 pm

haha i watched the glee project too! Although I don’t have a TV and no time to watch it on Hulu until Friday. I can’t wait to see it though!

13 Kathleen @ The Daily Crumb September 20, 2011 at 11:19 pm

Careful of eating a big meal before yoga. Maybe 2 large snacks – one before and one after?

14 Meghann September 21, 2011 at 8:28 am

Yeah, I think that’s the way to go. πŸ™‚

15 Malia @ Life is good girl September 20, 2011 at 11:40 pm

Yeah for Glee!! I DVRed it but am not allowed to watch it until my hubby and I can watch it together. He went to bed early tonight. How rude! πŸ˜‰ Maybe tomorrow.

I can’t do a meal before yoga. Twisting + down dog+ full tummy= bad idea

16 Nicole September 20, 2011 at 11:43 pm

I had a fantastic Cliff bar for breakfast this morning – Chocolate Chip. It was awesome!

I’ve watched 2 or 3 episodes of Glee, including tonight’s episode. I’m not sure what to make of it, to be honest. I think I need to watch more, lol!

I’ve found it’s a love it or hate it show. I love it, but I know some people that hate it and I’m ok with that. πŸ™‚

19 Ashley September 20, 2011 at 11:54 pm

Another Gleek here! I haven’t watched it yet though. I’m waiting till tomorrow when I can get it on Hulu. The suspense is killing me!

I was kinda disappointed in tonight’s episode! I’m a huge Glee fan, but I thought the episode was kinda blah. Not good song choices and not a lot happening. Hopefully next week’s episode is better!

I agree that I wasn’t a fan of the song choices, but I like how they’re really getting back to the stories with the core characters. The episode itself wasn’t very strong on its own, but it set the ground for what I hear will be a great season. πŸ™‚

I actually started watching Glee over the summer on Netflix. I’m only up to episode 10. I would LOVE to have watched the new episode tonight, but I’m weird in that I HAVE to watch it in order.

I’m the same way! If I start watching a season of something on DVD, I’m not allowed to start watching new episodes until I’ve seen all the old episodes leading up to it in order.

26 Katie @ Talk Less, Say More September 21, 2011 at 2:04 am

I’ve been going to a 8-9 yoga class most weeknights after work and it has made my dinner schedule bizarre. I’ve been doing protein at 3/4, some fruit or veggies at 6/7 and I have no appetite after, but usually have oatmeal before bed. Dinner in three parts! Let us know if you figure out pre/post yoga eating – I still feel like it’s not quite right for me!

29 Meghann September 21, 2011 at 8:36 am

Thanks for the tips. I’m thinking a nice snack with protein before class and a snack of comfort carbs may be the way to go. I’m going to try that next week.

30 Brittany @ Itty Bits of Balance September 21, 2011 at 5:20 am

I love Glee, but havent had time to watch since half way through season 2! Oh please don’t tell me they got rid of Puck!!

32 Dina September 21, 2011 at 6:15 am

I really enjoyed the episode especially seeing Lindsay. Plus the number she was in was just wonderful. It will be interesting to see how the other Glee Project winners will be introduced throughout the rest of the season.

I think the term “Gleek” is so cute for some reason… I’ve never gotten into the show but will watch it occasionally and enjoy it! Mmm, I’ve got a whole bag of sweet potatoes from TJ’s that I need to use up- thanks for the idea!

I really liked Glee and am a big fan but last night I thought was terrible. It was really boring and the song choices weren’t good either. I’m hoping that it gets better. I was disappointed by 90210 last night too. What is going on with these shows? I’m hoping that they all turn around and end up being good!

I’m actually not a Gleek, but only because I teach my muscle class at the Y during Glee time! . My roommates, however, shush me every Tuesday when I come home and say hello with 15 Glee minutes to go, because they are glued to the TV!

44 Samantha September 21, 2011 at 9:42 am

Looooove Glee! And The Glee Project! Although I was not a Lindsey fan…oops πŸ™ I really loved Damien and Sam…and Hannah! I’m waiting for Damien to realize how much he likes Hannah so they can be a cute couple πŸ™‚ I’m excited to see them brought into the show!! And I d think they did a good job with the premiere too.
