Today is a big day! It’s MealsAndMiles.com Birthday!
Ok, technically it’s only the anniversary of the day I started blogging in 2008 (I switched to MealsAndMiles.com last September) and technically I actually started blogging on September 11th (I always feel funny celebrating my anniversary on such a sad day), but it’s still a day to celebrate!
This blog has come A LONG way since I started blogging in 2008.
The blog was originally called The Inner Workings of a College Graduate and started as a way to document how I was maintaining a 30 pound weight loss while working a forty hour work week and still enjoying a social life. When this blog began I had only been living in Orlando for a month, was single, living on my own, and the longest distance I had run was 7 miles.
It’s crazy how much can change in three years. Now, I’m living in Tampa with Derek, have been self employed for 9 months, and am about to race my first half ironman. If you would have told me I’d be where I am today way back then, I’m pretty sure I would not have believed you.
Three years of my life are documented in this website. Three years of love, three years of tears, and three years of little moments I may have forgotten otherwise. It has been one crazy adventure, but I’m not sure I would have done it any other way.
If you’re in the mood for reminiscing with me, be sure to check out my favorite post tabs above.
I try my best to bookmark all of my favorite posts there.
If there’s anything missing or something you’re curious about – just let me know!
I’m a little curious – are there any readers out there that have been following since the beginning? If not – when did you first discover my blog and what the heck keeps you around?!
I hit the pool this morning for a nice and easy swim, executing my version of the Pyramid Swim Workout.
- 100 easy
- 200 kick board
- 100 pull buoy
- 16 x 25 @ :35
- 8 x 50 @ 1:10
- 4 x 100 @ 2:20
- 2 x 200 @ 4:30
- 100 Easy
I’ve been getting really lazy with my cool downs. It’s hard because after I’m finished with my main set, I’m mentally done with the workout.
I was hoping to head to the weight room after my swim, but the lack of a dry shirt turned those plans upside down. Something tells me they wouldn’t have appreciated a wet suit all over the gym equipment, so I just headed home with plans to return later.
Breakfast had a celebratory flair in honor of this blog’s birthday.
What better way to celebrate than with a bowl of what has put this blog on the map – cereal.
- 1/2 cup Cinnamon Cheerios
- 1/2 cup Quaker Oatmeal Squares
- 1/4 cup Love Grown Granola
- Vanilla Yogurt
- Three Candles (removed before eating, of course )
Make a wish!
Here’s to three more years of blogging memories – hopefully more good than bad.
