On a Mission

Trying to find a last minute dress for a wedding is tough.

Trying to find one in a small town is even tougher.

Titusville has two ‘malls’ (and I use the term ‘malls’ very loosely). One has a JcPennys, the other has a Sears and neither rarely has anything worthwhile. What is it about small towns that screams small selection at retail stores?

Still, my Mom and I were on a mission – to find her a dress for the wedding today.

First stop: JcPennys

Total time: 5 minutes
Outfits tried on: 0

Second stop: Sears

Total time: 10 minutes
Outfits Tried on: 0

Third Stop: Target

Total time: 45 minutes
OUtfits tried on: 6

Ladies and Gentlemen… We Have a Winner!

Doesn’t my Mom look good?!?! Ow. Ow.

Mission complete.

Seriously, when you live in a small town, Target really is the best option. Heck, Target is the best option in big towns too. I <3 Target.

We celebrated out dress victory with subs from Publix.

I ordered my favorite: Salsalito Turkey with all the veggies on wheat with spicy mustard.

Literally just came back from last minute wedding dress shopping too! But, I have buyer’s remorse.

I love that dress! I’m looking for something similar for a wedding in July … maybe I just need to hit up Target I’m really tall, though, so sometimes I don’t have the best luck.

I still think it’s funny how you call Titusville a small town and it has a Sears, JC Penny, grocery stores, and restaurants! My town has 5 stop lights, and our only drive thru is the bank!

25 Alice June 25, 2011 at 10:31 pm: I was going to say the same thing. A town big enough for a Target, let alone a JCPenny and Sears is not that small. It’s all relative. I live in Iowa, in one of the bigger “cities” in the state and we really don’t have that much more than “small town” Titusville.

That said great dresses!

26 Elise June 26, 2011 at 4:14 am: Same reaction here! My hometown in southern Oklahoma has a population of 3,000 and nary a chain store of any kind. And it’s the largest town in our entire county, which has a population just shy of 10,000. The nearest malls and Wal-Mart are thirty miles away, minimum.

loooove target! I recently bought 5 (yes five, I have issues) of their kimona dress, in different colors of cours! Its the perfect everyday summer dress and it can be dressed up or down! I also bought to bathing suits too

Target is really all u need in the end

Love the dress on you!! I get what you are saying about small town malls – I live in Lake City…we have a “mall” – the 2 main stores are JC Penny and Belks…there are small store in between – but…….ya know?? They did just resently trade the Goody’s for a TJMaxx and that can be ‘money’ from time to time….love some TJMaxx But it’s hit or miss. We have yet to get a target, I hear we are getting one – but they have been saying that for a while…we do have good ol’ walmart. Your mom’s dress looks great!!
