Something Borrowed

by Meghann on May 7, 2011

The wild goose chase is over.

Derek and I were finally able to see Something Borrowed tonight. ๐Ÿ™‚

I thought they did a great job adapting the book into a movie. They combined a couple of characters (to be expected), added some additional storylines, and took some scenes out, but all in all a great job.

I also thought the casting was great. When I read the book a second time I knew they had cast Kate Hudson as Darcy, so she already fit the role in my head. Ginnifer Goodwin was the perfect mix of natural beauty and charm to pull off the roll of Rachel. She’s also one of my favorite actresses. It’s nice to see her take on a leading role. I still remember her as the sidekick in Win A Date in Tad Hamilton and Mona Lisa Smiles.

If you’re a fan of the book, then I think you’ll enjoy the movie. And if you’ve never read the book before, then it’s a cute movie you’ll fall in love with.

Nothing like a feel good love movie to bright a Saturday night. ๐Ÿ™‚

Before the movie I prepared a simple meal for dinner.

Pretty, no?

The dish was easy. A basic mix of cous cous, raisins, spinach, roasted acorn squash, roasted eggplant, chopped almond, and goat cheese.

I was afraid it would come out dry, but there was so much flavor that everything blended together perfectly. With that many elements a shake of sallt and pepper was all it needed.

Dinner came with a beer (Cigar City)

Watching Something Borrowed made me want to go back to NYC again. I think NYC may be my favorite city to visit. ๐Ÿ™‚

Good night!

A Rare Free Saturday

May 7, 2011

Happy Saturday Everyone! This is the first weekend in a while where I have absolutely no plans. ๐Ÿ™‚ Of course, that doesn’t stop me from trying to make them. Last night as Derek and I were driving around he kept pointing random landmarks out and I would immediately reply with ‘ohhhh… we should do THAT more ยป
