Love for the Lemon

by Meghann on March 3, 2011

I’m in love with a new yogurt flavor and it’s name is Lemon.

IMG_8535.JPG

When I first saw the Chobani lemon flavor pop up in grocery stores a few weeks ago I was a little wary about it. A hint of lemon flavor in my water is acceptable, but in my yogurt? I had my doubts.

However, I’ll try anything once and decided to take my chances. You know, for the blog and all. πŸ˜‰

IMG_8531.JPG

The lemon yogurt went on top of a bowl of Rice Krispie Puffs, Cinnamon Cheerios, and an un-named granola sample packet from my pantry. Then an orange finished it all (I was going with the citrus theme here πŸ˜‰ )

IMG_8537.JPG

Wow, the lemon was GOOD. The lemon flavor was there, but not as strong as I was expecting. It complemented the natural tartness of Greek yogurt perfectly and left me wanting to lick my bowl clean.

IMG_8541.JPG

Goal #1 when I get to Tampa: Stock up on Chobani Lemon Yogurt. πŸ™‚

Have you ever tried a flavor of yogurt (or really anything) that you weren’t sure of at first, but instantly fell in love?

I have a big list of to dos on my list today and on the very top is PACKING!

Only 48 hours to go!

1 Kara March 3, 2011 at 8:01 am

I pretty much hate all yogurt, but I did try some spinach artichoke hummus and I was shocked how much I liked it since I normally hate all things artichoke.

Maybe Chobani will send you the cool lunch box that I’ve seen on other blogs!

Me, too, on the yogurt hating… I’ve tried many times to like it (including Greek), but it just tastes like rotten/spoiled dairy to me.

3 Kristy @ KristyRuns March 3, 2011 at 8:13 am

I am not a big fan of lemon…never been keen about the tart flavor! πŸ˜‰ I’m open to most new flavors though, and would probably give it a shot.

That happened to me with the Chobani pomegranate. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it, but It’s definitely my favorite now. I really want to try the lemon. I love citrus.

5 Mimi March 3, 2011 at 8:22 am

I love anything lemon flavored, so I’ll definitely be keeping my eyes open for this! I was skeptical about the pomegranate flavor, but I really like it!

I didn’t like the lemon Chobani. I just couldn’t get into that flavor. I really like the mango though! I was skeptical about mango yogurt but after trying it, I am a big fan! πŸ™‚

Oh my God, yes! The same thing happened to me when I tried Chobani’s Strawberry-Banana yogurt. I had tried the original flavor first and hated it and I was worried that I would be unimpressed with the strawberry-banana flavor. But holy God, it was the best tasting yogurt I’ve ever had!

This sounds delicious and so refreshing! The brand ‘Source’ has some dessert flavoured yogurts that I was a little skeptical about at first (yes, the same low calorie brand you’re probably thinking of – I know there’s artificial things in it but the lemon meringue pie flavout sounded oh so good!!!) It was absolutely delicious!

I’m always on the lookout for new yogurts and flavors. I take one in my lunch almost every day because they’re easy to pack and full of calcium. But the same ones can get tiresome. I’ll have to look out for the lemon flavor – it’s one of my favorite dessert flavors!

I had pineapple this morning with Chia seeds in it- yummmmmmm

32 Fallon March 3, 2011 at 10:01 am

The lemon greek yogurt sounds very refreshing! I’ll have to check my grocery stores this weekend.

Have you ever tried the yogurt brand Wallaby? I absolutely love their creaminess and flavor of their yogurt. Bit high in sugar (for the flavored ones) but with all natural ingredients it makes a delicious treat to have once in a while! Their plain yogurt is pretty amazing too.

Ah! I remember packing and moving so vividly. I only moved a couple miles away into a nicer, cheaper house, but I was lucky to have a week overlap between the places so I could move out of one, bring my stuff over the other and go back and clean the crap out of it! It also helped that I am a high school teacher and I recruited some of my students to help move my furniture into a uhall πŸ™‚ The whole move cost me very little. Good luck with yours!

Weary = wary
Complimented = complemented

I really really don’t mean to be rude. I get that proofreading is not the “fun” part of blog writing, but as a loyal reader who may soon choose to tune out- I felt like I needed to tell you.
