Back to NYC

by Meghann on February 13, 2011

Vacation is almost over. This makes me sad. ๐Ÿ™

I enjoyed one final bowl of oatmeal in the breakfast nook this morning.

The house has a hot water spicket that is pretty amazing for instant oats and hot tea. I’ve decided I want one in my future home. I would also like the 700 sq foot kitchen, 7 bedrooms, and gorgeous mountain views. Just sayin’. ๐Ÿ˜‰

My bowl had irish steel cut oats, apple, peanut butter puffins, and peanut butter.

Bo cooked up some amazing special bacon they received as a Christmas gift brought up for the weekend. It was seriously some of the best bacon I’ve ever tried.

It was chewy, smoky, and delicious. ๐Ÿ™‚

We debated a half day of skiing, but outlet shopping seemed much more appealing.

The girls shopped while the boys packed up the rest of the house. We only had time for a few stores, but I found luck in J Crew while others had success with BCBG. ๐Ÿ™‚

Slowly, but surely everyone began to say goodbye. I was really sad we never got a group shot of everything weekend. It was so much and I really hope it turns into a yearly thing. Or bi-yearly? Too bad no one in my family owns a beach house! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Our car was the last to leave, but before we hit the road we dug the left overs out for a quick lunch.

Road Trip Snack

I got this package of Yogurt Mango Chunks in a race bag and was impressed. It was a fun, sweet snack. ๐Ÿ™‚

Derek and I don’t fly out of NYC until tomorrow morning, so we have one final night staying with two of our favorite people in the city. ๐Ÿ™‚

We took advantage of the left overs (again) for dinner.

Ashley made a big salad for dinner with left over lettuce, veggies, bacon, parmesan, tomato, croutons, and a homemade vinaigrette .

Did you all like Derek’s post? ๐Ÿ˜‰ I think he discovered blogging isn’t as easy as it looks, but he did a fabulous job. He even remembered to hyperlink people. 10 points for Derek! While Derek worked, the rest of us partied. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Bo injured himself on the first day and managed to entertain himself more ยป
