I dedicate this weekend – Holiday Spirit Weekend 2010! 🙂
Derek and I have a handful of holiday themed events this weekend, starting with Light Up UCF at the local University.
Light Up UCF is held every year outside of the UCF arena and features free holiday movies, fun rides, an ice slide, and – of course – a lot of lights!
All that is good and fun, but we were here for the main event – Orlando’s only outdoor ice skating rink.
For $12 we were handed a pair of ice skates and granted unlimited access to the tiny rink.
The rink was beat up and I was a little out of practice (can’t remember the last time I went ice skating), but the music was awesome and any event that involves is Derek is automatically going to be a blast. 🙂
Blogger caught in action:
Just call me Gliding Calm. 😉
We bought tickets to take photos with Santa and to decorate cookies, but they were closed by the time we made our way over there. Boo.
Highlight of the evening was a plate of Vegan Nachos and Cornbread from Dandelion Cafe before ice skating.
Lowlight was the hout and a half drive home.
(It should have been 20 minutes. 🙁 )
Ice Cream makes everything better.
Looks I’ll be up in another 5 hrs heading out to the Girls on the Run 5k. This should be fun. 😉
