We nailed it!!! π
Ok, so we won’t know anything for two to three weeks and there are literally THOUSANDS of people auditioning all around the country, but I can say without a doubt that we gave that audition everything we have and if we don’t get it it’s not because we weren’t energetic or amazing, it’s because we don’t fit into a ‘type’ that they’re looking for. And I can not be more thrilled with that! π
But, let me start from the beginning, I bet you’re dying to know all the fun details. π
Katy picked me up around 3:15 this afternoon and we made the 20 minute drive to our 4:30 audition. Yes, we arrived wayyyy early, but it’s better to be earlier, rather than later, right?
Turns out being early was a good thing. About 5 minutes after we sat down another girl auditioning asked if we would switch places with her and her partner. They weren’t ready and we were, so Katy and I went for it.
The auditions were held at a hotel near the attractions and the girl had instructed us to head to one of the suites on the third floor. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by two lovely casting directors, a camera, and two chairs. It was a mini studio in the comfort of a hotel room.
One of the directors handed Katy and I a dry erase board and instructed us to write our names and phone numbers on the board. She then took photos of each of us with the board, then without, and then one together.
After that we took our seats in front of the camera and just went for it. It was actually a lot of fun. I treated it like a job interview and completely forgot the camera was there. They asked us about our relationship, our connection with social media, why we want to drive across country, our jobs, etc.
I tried to get across that I have an out going personality (because I do!), that I’m not afraid to speak my mind and take chances (because I’m not!), and that I love Katy to pieces and would to spend 5 weeks in a car with (Ding! Ding! Ding!).
I thought I would be really nervous, but I wasn’t. The directors were sweet and it’s hard not to have a good time when I’m with Katy. She is so smart, so sweet, and really knows her stuff!
Love this girl!
So, now the waiting game begins. We were told it should be a quick turn around (maybe, 2-3 weeks) until we hear something. Keep your fingers crossed for us!
Also, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for all the tweets and Facebook messages! We wanted to get Ford’s attention and I think we succeeded at that. Katy even had a personal tweet from Scott Monty (Ford’s social media head honcho) giving her kudos for taking over Facebook’s wall.
Like I said if we don’t this it isn’t because we aren’t awesome (we are!!) it’s because we don’t fit the ‘type’ they looking for. π Either way I can’t wait to follow along when the show does premiere this spring. It should be a good one!
Katy and I were on such a high from our interview that we decided to grab dinner together and to keep the good times rolling. We headed to Pom Pom’s Teahouse near downtown for some laid back eats.
Pom Pom’s is a teeny, tiny teahouse I’ve been meaning to try forever. They have a large selection of teas that you can order hot or cold and an entire menu of creative sandwiches, that makes deciding what to order nearly impossible because they all sound great.
As soon as I saw the option for Iced Pumpkin Spice Tea I knew I had to order it.
The tea was naturally sweet with a delicious pumpkiny taste. More squash-y then spice, but it worked. π
For my sandwich I went with Mama Ling Ling’s Thanksgiving. (minus the cream cheese)
So many great flavors going on here, it really made me wish Thanksgiving would hurry up and get here. i can not wait for turkey, homemade stuffing, and mashed potatoes.
My ONLY complaint was there was not enough cranberry chutney on here. I prefer my sandwiches to be overflowing with cranberry sauce and this had just a tiny smear. π
After dinner I headed home, picked Maddie up, and drove her to Titusville to be with my parent’s. I’m heading out of town once again this weekend and my parents really do love their grandpup. π
There was a pan of brownie waiting for me in the kitchen when I arrived at my parents and a jar of homemade apple butter waiting in the fridge.
Apple Butter on a Brownie? Well, don’t mind if I do. π
I’m staying at my parent’s tonight and heading back to Orlando early in the morning. Friday is almost here! π
Good Night!!
Ahh amazing!! They’d be crazy not to pick you guys π

Congrats on a great audition! That sandwich looks yummy! Why did you opt to leave off the cream cheese? Do you not like it? I LOVE cream cheese. So delicious.
Cream cheese just didn’t seem to blend in that combo in my head. I thought it would make an already mushy sandwich even mushier and take away from the other lovely flavors. π
Haha, really good point. I guess with the mashed potatoes, there was already a lot of “mush” on that sandwich!!
Im cheering for you!! i love finding surprises at my parents house
