The many sides of Meghann
Bored, much? π
Not going to lie. The traffic has been a wee bit slow at our booth today. This is one of our big, national shows, so the slow traffic has been a little disheartening. Oh well. What can ya do?
At least I have booth candy to occupy my time.

I played the role of super, duper co-worker earlier this afternoon and offered to run down the street to grab lunch for my co-workers and myself. It was nice to get outside for a little bit. The tradeshow floor is FREEZING, but it’s nice and sunny outside. π
Down the street I found a Jimmy Johns for lunch.
I’m not the biggest fan of Jimmy John’s (it’s a little bland for my taste), but it was a really popular place to eat at back in college. Now, everytime I see one or go inside one I’m instantly brought back to the Florida State Campus where Jimmy John’s delivered from practically anywhere and always took 20 minutes or less to get to us.
I ordered the veggie slim with cheese, avocado spread, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, and sprouts.
On the side I split a pickle with my co-worker.
Yesterday I had a few questions on my tattoo and even though I’ve shared the story on my blog before, I thought I would share it again.
(I know my feet need lotion)
To make a long story short, I had the snowflake tattoo done on my 19th birthday. I got it on my foot because my roommate had one there and I thought it was a cute spot. The snowflake design was based on one of my favorite snowflake sheet of stickers that I’ve had forever.
I’ve always had a thing for snowflakes and always knew I wanted a tattoo of one in some shape or form. Snowflakes are beautiful to me and I love that , like humans, each one is unique. You’ll never find two snowflakes that are the same, just like you will never find two people that are the same. π
I went through a bit of a rebellious stage in college with tattoos and piercings. I’m easily influenced by others and when I saw friends getting tattoos I knew I wanted one. And when I saw friends getting piercings I wanted one too.
Did you know I had my nose pierced at one time?
I had gone to the piercing parlor with a couple of friends who were getting theirs pierced and decided right then and there to have mine done too. I got it pierced right before my 20th birthday and kept it in until I moved to Orlando when I was 23.
It was fun to have and I miss it sometimes.
Did you have any piercings in college or high school that you’ve since taken out?
I did – I had an extra earring piercing (living on the wild side, I know). I took them out years ago. Oh – and I had one at the top of my ear too.

I’m sooo rebellious and had a second set of holes pierced in my ears. I also had the one that goes higher up on the ear cartilage. Wooo scary right? Haha, I don’t wear earrings in them anymore but the holes are still there!
I used to have my tongue pierced but I took it out a few years ago. I thought I was sooo cool though!

Haha I pierced my tongue when I was 19 and a sophmore in college. Took it out right before senior year started. Got my first tattoo that same year!

When I was in grad school, there was a jimmy johns within walking distance. Not the greatest, but was a quick meal when I needed it!
I got my belly button pierced in college while a friend got their tongue pierced. I still have it in as a reminder of my little rebellion.

I had my tongue pierced. My dentist, also my cousin, kept yelling at me to take it out. So I did.
I have my rook and helix pierced (parts of ears). I’ll probably take them out after grad school. Most of the time I forget they are even there!
I had an industrial across the top of my left ear which I had to take out because it got infected. I want it again though!

I had my belly button pierced in college under the influence of a bad, bad ex-boyfriend. Bad idea. At least the tiny hole is hidden.
Tattoos scare me. My mom used to work for obstetricians and would tell horror stories of what that cute butterfly on your hip turns into around 8 months pregnant. Yikes.

I’ve got a tattoo around those parts that I want to have removed before I make baby plans. When I got it, I was 19 and thought I’d never, ever have kids. Now, I want kids someday and I have a tacky tat!

The only rebellious thing I ever did was dye my hair weird colors all the time. I had blue, pink, purple, orange, green and black hair (I’m a natural blonde). Black was the worst by far. That only lasted about a week before I changed it. I looked like I was sick or something. Blue was by far my favorite. I actually just dyed the tips of my hair blue about five months ago, but my hairdresser cut them off. He’s been cutting my hair for like twenty years and told me I was too old to have blue hair. Oh well. It was fun while it lasted.
Oh yes – I had my belly button pierced when I was 18. I NEVER told my parents! By the time I was 21 or so I figured it was a moot point, and then it became awkward. “So, I got this piercing done four years ago and …”
I had it removed when I was 25. (I’m 30 now and I’ve still never told them.) I also had three piercings in each ear. I only have one now and I miss the other two sometimes! I felt like such a badass.
I never got at tattoo, either, but I did used to color my hair bright red. I’m not sure that look would really fly for me anymore though, I think I’ve grown out of it …

I had my nose pierced too! I got it done shortly after I turned 18 (despite my mom’s empty threats to stop speaking to me) and I kept it in for just about two years. I started working at Starbucks and they don’t allow any piercings on the face (eyebrow, lip, nose). The hole has now completely closed and sometimes I miss it too. I want to get a tattoo but I’m still scared.
Also, I live in South Carolina and I absolutely looove the veggie sandwich from Jimmy Johns. I thought they were going to close the one closest to me, but thank goodness they didn’t! Jimmy John’s bread is deliciously addictive.
You looked cute with the nose piercing! I had my cartilage pierced when I turned 18, but it since ripped out:(

I’m not much for piercings other than ears, they give me the eeby geebies (esp. the tongue, ick!). I LOVE tattoos though. I only have one so far, but it is an organic piece that is intended to “grow” with me. Each time I incur and important event in life I add to it π

I think tattoos are addicting! i have 2 already one i got when i was a senior in high school and the other one i got just a year and a half ago. I’ve always wanted one on my foot too and since i saw yours i’ve been more intrigued, but there not cheap. Ah! Have you ever thought of getting any more?
I relate to this post so much! From the straw cowboy hat to the rebellious piercing… I had my belly pierced for a grand total of 8 months because it never healed, and I took it out.
I also lived off of Jimmy John’s at FSU. Every time I get a whiff of their “free smells” it takes me right back!
When I turned 40 and my daughter turned 18, we went to get our belly buttons pierced. She went first and I fainted. Even worse, she had to drive home.
I do have my ears pierced though! And I might get a tattoo to celebrate my 50th but I am a wimp.
And yes maybe a mani/pedi are in order? π

Not much of a piercing person, but I have 3 tattoos. My first one is an egyptian symbol that means “be young” on my hip I got in college. Than I got an anch on my inner wrist after I graduated. I’m not Egyptian just obsessed with the culture and am finally going there in March! And last year I got my largest tattoo inspired by Bob Marley’s “3 little birds” song on my shoulder.

I noticed your tattoo the other day and thought it was really pretty! I have a little tattoo on my toe that I got when I was 20. I usually forget I have it. When I was in college I also had three sets of holes in each ear, but starting four or five years ago I completely stopped using the top two holes, and rarely use the bottom hole. I’m definitely done with tattoos and piercings!

I went through a little of a rebellious stage, too! When I turned 18, I got my belly button pierced, but I took it out when I was 25. When I was studying abroad in Prague, I got my eyebrow pierced! I thought it was bad ass! Ha! It was short lived though, and I took it out a few months after I got home.
I had my belly button pierced in high school through most of college and took it out when I started to gain weight my senior year. I have no desire to put it back in and hate the little scar it gave me. Other than that, each ear has 2 holes in the lobes and I lurve it.
I had my traigus, tounge, cartilage, and 2nd ear holes pierced in college. Yikes!
Now all that is left is my belly button (got it done when I was 16), two holes in each of my ears and that extra cartilage piercing on my right ear.
No tats for me! Long reason why I don’t want one. So I just stuck to piercings when I wanted to rebel.

I used to have three holes in each ear – and after a while I just kept two. No particular reason, just kind of felt like two was always more … me π

No tattoos. I almost did on my senior trip in high school but chickened out at the last minute!
I love the snowflake. And the top of the foot is a great spot to get it. It’s inconspicuous and won’t expand x 1000 when you have a baby.
I’m a new reader so I wanted to stop by and say “hi” and I love your page!

I had my nose pierecd my junior year of college … and still have it in almost 8 years later. I love it, and I can’t see myself ever taking it out. When I first had it done, my mom asked me how I would feel to have a pierced nose on my wedding day … I was married 1.5 years ago, and was happy to have it then, too:)
I had my cartiledge pierced in grad school. (I know, not that risque) I totally loved it. But once I started to get serious about my job, I took it out. It just does look very professional. π
I never got any weird piercings or tattoos, but my best friend did. She decided to get her eyebrow pierced and she brought me with her for “moral support.” Nevermind I can’t stand needles and couldn’t watch.
She took it out a few months later. She had her moment of rebellion, and she felt satisfied after that.

Thank you for this post!
I can relate to going through the rebellious piercing / tattoo stage in college – the early 00s were a funny time for all of us. In high school, my best friend had a piercing gun and I somehow came out of it with 11 (!) ear piercings. Around the same time I thought it was a grand idea to get my tongue pierced. Nowadays, I wear one earring in each ear and have a navel piercing, but that’s all. Oh, and a couple tattoos π

I pierced my eyebrow my senior year of college after I finished student teaching. I knew I had one more semester of college where I wouldn’t have to do any school visits, so it was the right time! I ended up keeping it in for the next two years, while working as a substitute teacher, health food store clerk, and environmental educator–I was the cool teacher with the eyebrow ring! Unfortunately, eyebrow piercings tend to grow out and look weird after 2 years…but my other eyebrow is waiting to be pierced when I turn 40! π

I had my belly-buttoned was pierced in college. This was just before the trend caught on, then it seemed like every girl I knew had their done. I took it out about a year later when the novelty wore off!
No tattoos for me though, too permanent.
I love your hair wavy! So pretty. I don’t have any tattoos or piercings (not even my ears!!) and never have. I’m not against them- I think everyone should do what they want and would consider getting a tattoo if I could find something meaningful enough. I love jimmy johns pickles- so delicious.

I got my nose pierced, but mainly because no one expected me to ever pierce anything, so I decided to do it randomly one day to show that I wasn’t what everyone expected. I was tired of being the girl that was so predictable. I then took it out for a few years and got it re-pierced because I missed it.
I sadly was running one morning at our town’s college campus, and wiped my sweaty face with my ratty sweatshirt… my nose ring caught on it, and it fell out and I never found it π I was very sad, because our small town doesn’t have small enough studs to put in my nose, so again it closed.
However, I’m really wanting to pierce it again but I want a ring instead of a stud… but I don’t want to look like a bull. Ha. What is your thought on nose rings? Bull-like, or cute?
I had been wondering about your tattoo, so thanks for sharing the story again! (I haven’t been a reader for very long but I’m slowly making my way through the archives).
I’ve had three holes in each earlobe but now it’s down to two. I got my belly button pierced when I was studying abroad in Italy (I was 20) but had to take it out a few years later since it was slowly growing out on its own. I still kinda miss it! I also have my rook (part of the ear) pierced– I feel like it’s subtle enough that it’s not unprofessional, so I’m keeping it in even though I’m a grown-up in a real job now :-).

no…I was pretty low key and still am. I didnt even get my ears pierced till I was about 15! I never wanted to put naything permanent on my body i might one day regret.
