I made it!

Do you know I’ve flown into the Denver airport more times than I can count, but I’ve never not once been to downtown Denver?!?!
I don’t see why not, the area is great – lots of walkable restaurants, active running scene, and lots of other great things I have yet to discover.

My cousin and her husband were AMAZING and drove me the hour and a half trek from Colorado Springs to downtown Denver. They win family member of the year award or something.
They also bought me PIZZA before we left the Springs.

Can you guess which half is mine?
I had two slices of the veggie-fied pizza as well as a graham cracker before we hit the road.

Once in Denver booth set up was a cinch at the convention center.
We have 4 people from my company here to work the booth and it took us less than an hour to get everything together. Not bad, not bad.
A co-worker and I had a few errands to run – I forgot a couple of basic toiletries – so we hit up the downtown area with her husband for said necessities and grabbed dinner in the process.

Appaloosa is an adorable grill in the downtown area that had a great menu with a wide array of options. I think everyone in our party was highly impressed with the food, service, and atmosphere.

My co-worker and I toasted the start of the conference with a glass of cab.

The table started with an order of bruschetta.

That little white thing in the front was goat cheese. The goat cheese with the traditional bruschetta topping was delicious, the strong cheese paired nicely with the mild tomatoes and olive oil.

I had two pieces.
For my meal I ordered the falafel platter.

The platter was ginormous! I had all the salad and half of the pitas and falafels.

The food was great. The falafels were well seasoned and the dips were each a welcomed addition to the falafel/ pita combo.
You’ll never guess where we adventured next.

It was my co-worker’s suggestion – what was I doing to day, no?

I ordered the junior coffee mocha and OMG was this good! The gelato was rich, thick and creamy. And each tiny bite was just as satisfying as a huge container of frozen yogurt. I need to get gelato more often.

Who knows what tomorrow will bring?
I have an early wake up call that involves an a visit to the hotel gym and breakfast at one of the cute cafes right outside my hotel’s door. Then it’s straight to work!
Hopefully the day isn’t too long. Wish me luck!

My cousin got married in Denver last summer and we would go to Appaloosa at night to drink and watch great live music. Denver has really late happy hours like even from 8pm-10pm. I never got to eat there though.
Denver looks so fun, have a great time!
I want that falafel platter – yum! And I heart goat cheese – next time I make bruchetta I’ll add goat cheese.
my boyfriend’s bf just moved there! Must make a trip asap…you know…before the snow starts falling and my texas butt can’t handle it!
I heart Denver! Don’t you just love the Denver airport? Some people say that statue of the horse with the glowing eyes is creepy and bad-luck…I think it’s way cool! And on a sunny day..the blue sky with the snow capped mountains in the background is awesome! Getting out of that place is confusing though! I hope you get a chance to check out Watercourse Grill or City O’City while you are there!
