Yoga Meltdown Take 2

by Meghann on June 10, 2010

Good Morning

I could get used to waking up to this. πŸ™‚

Kelly and I started our morning off with an old friend.

You can see my original review of Jillian Michael’s Yoga Meltdown by clicking here.

My original review was based off of Level 1, this morning Kelly and I took a stab at level 2.

ehhh…. is it possible I liked level 1 better? I just thought Level 2 was sort of random where she threw moves in just to make it appear harder. Like when she crouches down into crow towards the end. Or when she turns a few poses into reps. I mean, really?

I ended the work out with a few arm strengthening moves with the 5 pounds weights I brought. πŸ™‚

While Kelly and I were practicing yoga, my Mom – yes, my Mom, sometimes she cooks πŸ˜‰ – was hard at working prepping pancakes in the kitchen.

I had 3 pancakes with plain yogurt, strawberries, and blueberries.

Plus a piece of bacon.

My Mom said I had a very All-American breakfast. πŸ™‚

The pancakes were oddly filling. I’m stuffed!

Not sure what is on the plate for today. More beach? Maybe. πŸ˜‰

Happy Thursday everyone!!

Went to a yoga class last night and am feeling so refeshed and energized. Can your momma make me those pancakes? Hoping to make it to Florida sometime this summer to visor my fam in Tampa… Hopefully will get to see you sooner than later! Xoxo

I can’t imagine that Jillian Michaels would be a great yoga instructor. Is she even trained to teach yoga? She’s a bit too hardcore.

3 Melissa @ For the Love of Health June 10, 2010 at 9:10 am

I love the puppies just laying there in the background as you do the yoga LOL my dogs would never let me do that- they’d insist on participating!
Glad you are enjoying your vacay!

I love that view its beautiful, and so is the shot of breakfast! Wowzers I should make that for a Sunday breakfast this weekend.

5 Karla June 10, 2010 at 9:18 am

That is a VERY all American looking breakfast!
I have a hard time imagining Jillian Michaels doing yoga. Yesterday I watched her new show Losing it with Jillian… I feel like she’s more of a hard core cardio/strength type of gal.

Mmm that breakfast looks awesome. i haven’t had blueberries in SO long. Craving them now!

7 Frugal 'n' Fit! June 10, 2010 at 9:23 am

Yoga, pancakes, and the beach — sounds like an ideal day!

8 britchickruns June 10, 2010 at 9:37 am

Jillian Michaels does yoga!? I never realised!
Awesome pancakes πŸ™‚

Thanks for the insight on Jillian’s dvd. I have it too, because I like her other dvds and I love yoga … I was obviously pretty skeptical of her. I did level 2 first (I’m like that, haha) and thought it was totally lame with the reps. Maybe I’ll try level one after hearing your review. Have a fun day!

10 Marissa June 10, 2010 at 10:03 am

Those pancakes look so thick and fluffy!

11 Marina June 10, 2010 at 10:05 am

Hm, I could do some yoga to…maybe tomorrow πŸ™‚
Lovely looking breakfast, perfect fuel for swimming!

12 Kelly June 10, 2010 at 10:12 am

I need to try Jillian’s yoga…I have heard good things about it!!

13 theprocessofhealing June 10, 2010 at 11:04 am

Your pancakes look SO FLUFFY!

14 michelle June 10, 2010 at 11:53 am

Hey girl: The breakfast looks yummy. But nothing looks as good as where you are. I don’t know where you guys are staying but once you return I would love to hear where you stayed. Looks like a place my family would enjoy. Enjoy the day.

gorgeous scenery!!

16 jennyinnewyork June 10, 2010 at 12:10 pm

wow that breakfast looks delicious. It’s so colorful. I’m jealous of all those fresh berries!

17 Kelly June 10, 2010 at 12:11 pm

I did level 1 last night and really liked it. I liked the constant movement and how the poses were used for toning and strengthening also. My triceps were screaming by the end.

I think a lot of Jillian’s, and the Biggest Loser DVDs as well, are really weird about the levels. Some seem more put together and sometimes the harder levels are easier etc.etc. I don’t understand it!

19 dianacheung June 10, 2010 at 12:46 pm

i’m eating the same berry combo as I type this…minus the beach view of course. πŸ™‚

20 Ash Bear June 10, 2010 at 1:08 pm

Have I told you that I wish I had a sister. That looks so fun and the breakfast looked delcious! πŸ™‚

I bought a new Yoga video that my husband and I are going to try out in the near future. It is by Mindy (can’t remember her last name). Hopefully it will be good!

All that fresh fruit looks amazing. I could go for a bowl of it right now.

22 fitandfortysomething June 10, 2010 at 1:17 pm

i have never tried that yoga…..i love yoga download!
that view is amazing.
your mom rocks! will she make me breakfast too?

23 Kellie June 10, 2010 at 1:19 pm

Pancakes on vacation always make me happy. I think it is because they remind me of a relaxing weekend morning.

24 Amanda (Two Boos Who Eat) June 10, 2010 at 1:22 pm

I liked level 1 of yoga meltdown better too! I’m glad I’m not the only one.

Love the look of those pancakes. Delicious. The yogurt almost looks like fluffy whipped cream.

25 Sana June 10, 2010 at 1:26 pm

I can’t imagine Jillian teaching yoga and it being relaxing!

26 Jessica @ Jessica Balances June 10, 2010 at 1:31 pm

Y’all look so cute doing yoga! πŸ™‚ I’ve been thinking of buying that Jillian DVD, but wasn’t sure if it would be any good… Miiiight have to try it.

27 ellaroo88 June 10, 2010 at 3:26 pm

Hmmmm. . . I did workout one and did enjoy it but I guess I need to do number two. Makes me sad that you guys didn’t like it as much. I kind of like number one

28 Lisa @ bakebikeblog June 10, 2010 at 5:33 pm
