Miles away from Disney World there exists a place in Central Florida that takes you away form the hustle and bustle of city life and brings you to the great beautiful outdoors. 🙂
You feel peaceful just looking at it right? 🙂
My Dad had the brilliant idea of renting canoes and exploring the Wekiva River this morning. Well, actually he had the even more brilliant idea of tubing down Kelly Park, but he wasn’t the only one who had that idea. By the time we reached the park, they were full and weren’t letting anyone else in. Le Sigh. Still, I think canoeing down the river was just as great of an idea as tubing. 🙂
On the 25 minute drive to the river my Dad and I split a bag of Sea Salt & Vinegar potato chips.
And we stopped at Publix for Subs.
I had a veggie sub with swiss cheese and all the fixins’.
The 2 hour canoe rental came to a total of $5.00 for the two of us! Not only was the canoe rental cheap, but it got us outside and our arms got a killer work out with the paddle. I should canoe more often!
I sat in the front and let my Dad guide us in the back.
The ride was GORGEOUS!
I was on the look out for any gators, but my Dad said the water is still too cold for them. I did see some turtles. 🙂
Unfortunately the clouds began to roll in and we had to head back home. Boooo to rainy Saturdays!
I had an apple on the way back. 🙂
It’s only 3:30 and my Dad and I are stumped on what to do! He wants to see Robin Hood, but I just saw a movie last night.
Hmmm…. decisions. decisions.
What’s your favorite rainy day activity?
