Cold Food

by Meghann on May 20, 2010

I discovered a new delicious pita combination that I would like to add to my Top 10 Most Awesomest (I know I made that word up) Pita list.

It contains Arugula, Tabouli, Feta, Chickpeas, and it is freaking amazing.

Look how pretty…

Now that it’s HOT outside I find myself craving summer foods. All I want are cold sandwiches, cold pitas, salads, and fresh fruit – You see the cool and refreshing theme here? – and this pita perfectly fit the bill. It was light, refreshing, and full of great mediterranean flavors. Yum!

I had a serving of cold and crisp english peas on the side of the pita.

Ohhhh…. summer – you always come too quickly to Florida! Where did spring go? Those couple of weeks were way too short!

This morning I snacked on some chocolate graham and pretzel goldfish.

I wonder if anyone makes a gluten free pita pocket, because now you have me wanting to try that!

I’m pretty sure they would do- if even the British market can sell them, I’m sure its more advanced Uncle Sam will (or you could try making your own?!)

Seriously! My Poppa made a big pot of SOUP last night…it was so hot and warm! I need cold food when the weather is hot. Although to his defense it was cloudy and kinda chilly yesterday.

Thanks for the raffle plug, Meghann!! 🙂

I’m so bummed I won’t be able to make it to this year’s HLS (gotta save up my vaca time and $$ for a big trip this fall!), but I hope I’ll get a chance to meet you someday soon! Do you have any trips to NYC planned in the future?

22 Katherine: What About Summer? May 20, 2010 at 8:07 pm

I am a fan of cold food for summer time
mostly because I hate waiting for things to gook.

you’re so talented at food preparation. keeping the pita in one piece when stuffed is a true art!
