My Job This Week

by Meghann on April 26, 2010

My company is in the process of launching our new website – a project that has been in the works since January. So, basically my job for the next two days will be going through the new site with a fine tooth comb. It’s one of those project where you think everything is perfect until you discover another little detail that needs to be corrected before it goes live. Oy vey!

To make life even more interesting the website will go live THIS Thursday. You know where I’ll be Thursday? San Francisco! eeekkk!!! Looks like I will have my cell phone glued to my hip for the first 24 to 48 hours of my trip. It’s also a good thing our flight as wifi capabilities; otherwise I may be in trouble. 😛

Don’t worry – new website or not – I still fully intend to enjoy my vacation. 🙂

In typical Monday fashion my morning began with a lovely two hour meeting and was immediately followed with a snack of nuts and dried apricots.

Lunch was left overs from our picnic lunch yesterday.

I had roasted extra eggplant, zucchini, yellow squash, and mushrooms knowing they would make an excellent option for quick meals this week.

Yesterday my roasted veggie sandwich was missing something and today I discovered what it was: balsamic vinegar. Just a little drizzle was what this sandwich needed to go from ok to great.

On the side I had some grapes

and peanut butter pretzels.

Time to get back to that fine tooth comb!

Site work is so complicated! I want to get in to self-hosting, but after looking into it it’s easier to have someone else do it for me.

Good luck! I have done this many times, and it is intricate and time consuming but worth it when you have a stellar site!

All those pretzels look SO GOOD. I’m gutted I finished my own stash :s
I feel for you with the website stuff – so much pressure! I hope it’s not too stressful for you 🙂

I can’t wait to read about your travels to San Francisco! I spent 3 wonderful days there last October (not long enough!) and really want to go back! It’s a fabulous city and very easy to get around. I stayed in Nob Hill and my friend and I walked EVERYWHERE! Even with the hills! I mapped it out when we got back, it was about 7-8 miles of walking each day! Loved the Ferry Building and Union Square/SoMa areas of town, as well as the Marina and Mission. Have fun!

Roasted veggie sandwiches are amazing!

And that fine tooth comb stuff drives me nuts. I hate grant season because that is all I do for grants after I write them.

It’s no fun to work on vacation, but good for you for having such a great attitude about it!!

Egh, not the greatest project, but at least there’s an end in sight for it.

Have fun in San Fran! I’ll be in Sacramento and LA next week for business. If you know of any good eats in those areas, I’m ALL ears!
