I <3 Foodbuzz for several reasons.
1 – They link food bloggers from all over the world
2 – They throw one hell of a festival (can’t wait until November!)
3 – They pay for the lovely ad on the right of this window (—>) that essentially covers all of the great food as I eat as well as my race addiction.
4 – They have this really awesome program called Foodbuzz 24, 24, 24 in which they document 24 meals in 24 hours on the 24th (err.. 26th) each month.
I’ve applied for the 24, 24, 24 a few times, but have yet to have an idea accepted. Booo…
I still have my fingers crossed that one day it will happen, but for now it was fun to live vicariously through a couple of my favorite bloggers who had a pretty kick ass idea accepted and were kind enough to invited a friends to join in on the festivities. π
Their idea? A Seven Course International Affair Gone Vegan!
Lindsey and Ryan designed an amazing seven course international vegan tasting menu that incorporated seven dishes from seven different countries. They personally planned the menu, hand selected all the fresh, organic ingredients, and cooked each course from scratch. These ladies need a big round of applause! π
I started the evening with a pumpkin ale home brew that Lucas had brought for the group.
There is something about knowing that a beer is homebrew that just makes it better in my head. π This beer was full of flavor and went down very easily. Too bad they ran out other wise I would have happily had another one. π
Time to bring on the FOOD! π
For full recipe and details from all the dishes please refer to Lindsey or Ryan’s blogs. π
First Course: An Italian appetizer of Tomato Basil Bread Crostini with a Bruschetta consisting of tomato, basil, lemon, extra virgin olive oil, cannellini beans and a sweet balsamic reduction.
Second Course: A French vegan version of a Nicoise Salad.
Third Course: An African Sweet Potato and Peanut Soup
Fourth Course: A simple palate cleanser of a Moroccan Mint Sorbet with coconut water, coconut milk, lime and fresh mint.
Fifth Course: Mexican Vegan Tamales with Masa and a Black Bean, Salsa Verde, Corn and Green Chiles Filling (my favorite!!)
Sixth Course: Jamaican Jerk Seitan with raw Plaintain Chips (All the guys’ favorite π )
Seventh Course: An All American, Vegan and Raw classic dessert of Sβmores (Pure2Raw twins recipe!).
And last, but not least!, a Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie cake in honor of Katy’s 23rd birthday!!!
