Where’s Maddie?

by Meghann on February 22, 2010

Let’s play ‘Where’s Maddie’!

There she is!

Maddie loves to cuddle up underneath my end table and I always try to catch her in the moment. Most times she escapes from her hiding spot as soon as I pick the camera up, but today I was able to actually snap a photo!

(You will just have to excuse the mess, if I had known I would be taking a photo I would have tidied up a little more in that area. 😉 )

I think Maddie was hiding because she wasn’t ready for the weekend to end either. When the alarm went off this morning she rolled over instead of encouraging me to get up with lots of kisses as she usually does. Deep inside I know she was screaming “Five more minutes Mom!” 🙂

We did get up and I started my morning with Sunrise Yoga on ExerciseTV on Demand. The whole session lasted 58 minutes and was very relaxing and soothing. I was expecting my legs to be a little sore after my 26 miles this weekend, but honestly they’re not bad at all. My IT band is a bit tight, but that’s it. I hope that means they will handle the 5k, 15k, and full marathon I am about the throw on them this weekend. Fingers Crossed!!

Per my usual Monday morning tradition, I started the week with a big bowl of cereal.

IMG_0127

  • 1/2 cup Kashi Cinnamon H2H
  • 1/2 cup Honey Puffs
  • 1/4 cup Peanut Butter Granola
  • One lucky Duck Chocolate Crispies
  • Plain Yogurt
  • Strawberries

The strawberries are fresh from Plant City, Florida and were so juicy, ripe and delicious. Nom Nom Nom

2 Megan (The Runner's Kitchen) February 22, 2010 at 9:44 am

Is that Nature’s Path peanut butter granola in your bowl? That’s my favorite kind!! So good 🙂

3 Katie @ Health for the Whole Self February 22, 2010 at 9:45 am

So jealous that you can get fresh, regional strawberries this time of year!!!

4 Anna February 22, 2010 at 9:45 am

lol– sometimes my dog hides under my bed…but forgets to hide his tail! I can see it wagging as I call his name 🙂

Don’t you just love dogs? 😉

5 caitlin February 22, 2010 at 10:06 am

8 islandgirleats February 22, 2010 at 10:01 am

Dogs are so cute with all of the funny places that they hide and like to sleep. Such a sweet picture of Maddie!

9 abbynormally February 22, 2010 at 10:02 am

Maddie is so cute!!! If my dog tired to do that, he’d break the table for sure!

10 theprocessofhealing February 22, 2010 at 10:02 am

Aww Maddie is precious!!!
Gosh those strawberries look great! Strawberry season needs to come in the Carolinas like NOW haha

11 foodfitnessandfreya February 22, 2010 at 10:05 am

Awh, love Maddie!
I can’t believe you did 26miles in a weekend, that’s such an achievement! I don’t know why, but two really long runs seems a bigger deal than one marathon!? Weird…
Have a good Monday!

12 feetinmotion February 22, 2010 at 10:08 am

Maddie is so adorable. I just want to cuddle her! I didn’t want to wake up this morning either 🙁 It was such a beautiful weekend and now the weather is nasty and it’s a start of another school week.

13 Michaela February 22, 2010 at 10:10 am

Ever use a foam roller for your IT Band? It works wonders.

Did you ever say who you are running the marathon with? I think I missed it.

20 Kelly February 22, 2010 at 10:25 am

I am with Maddie this morning, definitely not ready for the weekend to be over. What kind of stretches do you do for your IT band, I’ve been having some major issues with mine also?

21 Emilyeatsclean February 22, 2010 at 10:29 am

I think we all wished that this weekend had lasted just a little bit longer!!!!

So cute! My JRT has to perch herself on the back of the couch cushions so she can watch what’s going on outside. She’s gotta make sure our perimeter is secure!

Great looking brekkie – and Maddie is too cute!

34 Erin February 22, 2010 at 7:02 pm

You’re making me want a yummy breakfast like that! I’ve been living off Clif bars for breakfast while traveling around Australia — a girl’s gotta budget! 😉

35 Jordana February 22, 2010 at 7:08 pm

When you are in Tampa this weekend for your races, head over to Tarpon Springs. It’s a HUGE greek community with real, authentic Greek restaurants!

36 Angie February 22, 2010 at 7:43 pm

Awww Maddie is too cute! Girl you are going to need a serious massage and ice bath after this weekend. I will be thinking of ya.
Your cereal looks yummy! i love your cereal and trail mix creations. please post recipes and brands 😀 please and thank you…
One more thing, i noticed your messenger bag in the first pic. What brand is it?

37 missyrayn February 22, 2010 at 10:27 pm

I play that same game of trying to catch our pups in funny spots. Glad you were able to catch her because that is adorable.

38 Amanda February 23, 2010 at 1:37 pm

Oh, Maddie is breaking my heart. She’s so cute. She looks so much like my Jack Russell, Maggie, did when she was little. Maggie passed away last weekend. Give Maddie a big hug for me.

39 kristilyn February 26, 2010 at 11:45 am

LOL! One of our cats always crawls into a basket I have in my closet. It’s funny because I hang up all my purses and this basket is underneath them, practically hidden, with some pashminas and scarves I rarely wear. How she knew to crawl in there one day is beyond me!

Your cereal bowl looks delicious!
