Good Morning and Happy Wednesday everyone!
First things first I need to get a BIG Happy Birthday shout out to my friend Megan!
Megan turns the big 2-3 today!
Happy Birthday Megan! Hope its a great one!
This morning my training schedule called for a ‘easy 2-3’ mile run.
I completed the 3 miles in 28 minutes and decided I wanted to get in a little strength training in before my shower. Being tight on time I figured it would be the perfect opportunity to test out the new DVD the folks at SparkPeople.com sent me to review.
The Spark Fit, Firm & Fired Up DVD is comprised of seven 10 minute targeted strength work outs and one 15 minute cardio blast session. It is essentially set up where a person could do one of the 10 minute work outs each day of the week.
Or they have a nifty section of the DVD that combines certain work outs depending on what body part you want to work on and how much time you have.
I selected the arm combo work out for this morning. It was a twenty minute session that combined the ‘All About Arms’ and ‘Pump Up Your Upper Body’ segments.
I was surprised how much I enjoyed these works outs. The moves were basic, but with my lack of strength training experience I appreciated that. My 5lb weights made each move a bit of a challenge and by the end I was happy with what I had just accomplished.
I wouldn’t use this DVD as my total day-to-day workout, but its nice to have to supplement short runs or on rest days when I need something light and easy.
Check out the bottom of this post for your chance to win your own copy of The Spark Fit, Firm & Fired Up DVD!!
Can I just say that I think Tina is a genius? Her easy and creative recipes never cease to amaze me! This morning I discovered another winner of hers when I recreated her Baked Oatmeal in an Instant.
Pure genius I say!
I seem to have quite a build up of instant oatmeal packets in my cabinet that companies have sent me over the years.
Like this one.
Truth is I never know what to do with it because I don’t like hot oatmeal, especially of the instant variety. :/
Thanks to Tina I now have that solution!
I followed her recipe exactly and it produced a fluffy bowl of baked oatmeal goodness.
I topped the baked oatmeal with honey peanut butter, pumpkin yogurt, and 1/2 an apple.
This was too good for words! I happily licked my bowl clean.
Thank you Tina for continue to inspiring me everyday! And Happy 2 Year Bloggiversary to Carrots ‘n’ Cake!

Jillian Michaels 30 day shred!!
I like P90X
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t like hot oatmeal! Blech.
I like Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred!
I love Banish fat boost metabolims from Jillian Michaels!
Yum your oatmeal looks great!
Have a great day…….
My favourite work-out dvd is the 30 Day Shred with Jillian Michaels. I did it two nights ago and am still sore from it. Though my knees feel like a baseball bat have been taken to them! My knees aren’t that great to start with!
I have to agree with some others and say that my favorite work-out dvd is the 30 Day Shred with Jillian Michaels.
I don’t know if it’s my “FAVORITE” DVD but I definately feel the burn the next day! It’s Killer Butt! It sure is a killer, but it’s helped lift my fanny up a bit!
I love Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred! It definitely has been a great addition to my running schedule!
I LOVE Biggest Loser Yoga right now! I like the option of picking what level I want, based on how much time and how intense I want to make it. And I can’t wait to try the “Baked Oatmeal In An Instant” recipe!
My favorite workout is definitely Jillian Michaels No more trouble zones! Love her!!
30 day shred – quick, easy, effective!
I agree – Tina is genius. Her 3-minute cookies have changed my life.
I love Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred, but I keep hearing such good things about the No More Trouble Zone DVD. I’ll have to check it out sometime.
I’m going to have to say my favorite is 30 day shred…only because that’s the only one I’ve done in forever and I can’t remember the others!!!
I LOVE the Jillian Michaels Burn Fat, Boost Metabolism DVD. If I got the title wrong, it’s the kickboxing workout. LOVES IT! If I can’t get a run in due to weather, I pop this baby in and feel so good afterward.
Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred without a doubt! I was doing it this morning :p
That woman is SO AWESOME!
Have a great day, and happy birthday Megan too (I say it on here cos she hasn’t updated her blog yet today…I don’t blame her, I hope she’s out having a great time!)
30 Day Shred or Turbo Jam would be my video’s of choice! I would love to win this DVD, I need more stength training options!
I’ve yet to find a favourite DVD workout, maybe because I’ve only tried sucky Carmen Elektra. If I win this then hopefully it will be my new favourite
I also love Jillian’s No More Trouble Zones! That’s probably my favorite – but I also really enjoy her 30 Day Shred. Jillian never fails to kick my butt!
I love Jillian’s work out DVD’s. My favorite is her 30 day shred its awesome when I am in a time crunch and need a quick workout!
I love any of the Jillian Michaels’ DVDs!
my favorite is ‘turbo jam!’… it’s a nice change of pace from the gym every day…
The 30 Day Shred…level 3 hurts!
Happy Birthday Megan!!!
And I have to say, Jillian Michaels No More Trouble Zones is my favorite too. It’s a KILLER!!!!!
the 30 day shred!
Karen Voight – Slim Physique…Good toning moves and some easy but intense cardio segments.
I LOVE anything with Jilliam! But I am also a huge fan of the old school VHS Abs of Steel! That tape will whip your middle into shape!
wow those workouts seem like they would be lots of fun!!
lovely breakfast!!
I love the So You Think You Can Dance DVD just as a fun, light cardio routine, and of course, the 30 Day Shred for a hardcore workout!
Happy Birthday Megan! What a great picture of her
Breakfast looks awesome – I’ll have to try that!
My favorite workout DVD? Do the online one’s count? If not, I’d have to go with old school Denise Austin tapes
Meg
Well, the only workout DVD I have ever done is Jillian Michael’s 30-Day Shred, so I guess it would have to be my favorite! The oatmeal looks great.
30 day shred!!! yowza!!
I’ve been dabbling around in DVDs–Billy Blanks, the “500 calorie” workout, but I think overall, Jillian’s 30 Day Shred is the nicest, cleanest butt-kick in a short amount of time.
I’m a big fan of the 30 day shred… I’ve never done the full 30 day challenge for it, but I love using it when I’m snowed/rained into the house, on vacation, etc. This DVD looks awesome, too!
Turbo Jam!! Or, really, anything put out by BeachBody…but Turbo in particular!
I also LOVE the Turbo Kick FAN DVDs that Chalene Johnson puts out on her own. I’m a bit Turbo addicted.
I also <3 SparkPeople
I haven’t tried it, but I think I’d really love the 30 Day Shred!
Oh man, I love Jackie Warner’s (from Bravo’s Workout) One on One Training DVD. The Ab workout is a KILLER! It comes with an ab workout, arms, and legs. So intense!
My favorite is the No More Trouble Zones DVD as well! It’s a great workout that always leaves me feeling really strong but what I really like is that I enjoy doing it! I’m not going to keep doing something that’s boring so this is obviously key.
The spark DVD looks similar in that it’s broken up into sections, I’d love to try it!
I have not found a DVD workout that I completely love but I do the Billy Blanks tae-bo occasionally and it gives me a great workout!
ellen barret’s pilates dvd!
The 30 day shred is my favorite workout dvd!
P90X! Love it!
I am so going to try that baked oatmeal! Looks yummy!
30 Day Shred is mine for sure!!
Loveee baked oatmeal. Tastes like dessert!
I am boring. I like the 30 day shred. That Sparkpeople one sounds pretty cool. I’d love to have something like that to supplement my workouts.
I got started with and love to get shredded with Jillian (30 Day Shred).
But I have a copy of some British(?) 80′s step video. Laughing is half of the workout.
I don’t want to sound like a broken record, but my favorite (and only) work out dvd is the good ol’ shred. Even though I’ve done it maybe 5 times. And I use candles for weights.
I have never once used a workout dvd so I think it’s time to change that, yes???
Jillian Michaels no more trouble zones is my favorite! I just ordered physique 57 though, so we shall see if that takes first place
I don’t have a favorite!! Still haven’t found one that will keep me home from the gym
My current favorite is Jillian Michaels no more trouble zones. but 30 day shred is a close second. Both make my arms feel limp.
Mine would have to be Jillian Michael’s “No More Trouble Zones” also. I dread getting going because I know it will be hard, but I always feel better once it is over!
My favorite is Jillian Michaels’ Shred DVD!
Another big fan of the 30 day Shred.
I don’t use DVDs much for workout, but I do have to say Jillian’s 30 day shred really jump started adding more strength training into my routine.
I love the Core Fusion dvd! My goal in February is to do one section each day!
I have actually never done a workout video until recently which happened to be the biggest loser yoga video. I tried it b/c I’m a newbie to yoga and was a bit of a chicken to actually attend a class without knowing anything about yoga positions. I usually just attend classes (circuit training, bodypump, spin) at the gym instead or run outside so I don’t have a favorite but have been thinking about buying some.
My favorite DVD work-out is Jillian’s 30 day shred (because it’s the only one I have) lol
My favorite is Jillian Michaels 30-Day Shred!
My favorite workout DVD is LaloFit (V1 and 2). I have a hard time with workout DVDs and staying motivated, but this always works and I am so sore after!
I really like The Biggest Loser Last Change workout and 30-Day jump start which has segments just like your DVD. I prefer the gym but like you, the DVDs are perfect for snow and rest days!
that baked oatmeal looks out of this world — and perfect for a college chick like myself
lovely, Meghann!!
My favorite workouts are Rodney Yees yoga DVDs… he’s the mannnn!
My current favorite is Core rythyms DVD. It combines all sorts of Latin moves to give you a great cardio workout that is fun. They also have the option of the backview of the moves so that you can follow along with out feeling like you are going in the opposite direction!
Sorry for posting this on the wrong blog entry!
I love the yoga workouts on DVDs, especially Seane Corn and Shiva Rea.
I’m such a gym girl…I need the gym for great workouts…but I do enjoy my Shape Pilates DVD. That’s probably because I’m not very “good” at pilates so I don’t have to worry about looking stupid.
I have to agree with a lot of readers and say that my favorite new work out is “The 30 Day Shred” — I like how quick it is, and I’ve learned lots of really effective moves that I use for quick “every day” tone-ups — like the walking push-up
I would love to get my hands on this DVD
My favs are always Jillian–I like her kickboxing and the no more trouble zones. Both kick my booty everytime!!
AM Yoga with Rodney Yee is always by go-to when I can’t make it to the gym before work…. great morning stretch that sets the tone for my day
Love Jillian’s 30 Day Shred… but am starting to want some new videos. These sound fantastic!!
I like the Jackie Warner “One-on-One” DVD! I also like the Jillian Michaels DVDs.
I have 2 workout dvds that are belly dancing for hips and abs. This is SO fun, it gives you a really strong ab workout but teaches you a fun and seductive new dance skill too!
Honestly, I am looking for a new video. I did the 30 Day Shred, but it ended up bothering my knees, so I’d love to try something new!
My favorite workout video will probably always be Billy Blanks Ta-Bo (any version). Its one of the few videos I have found that I feel like I get as good of a workout as when I’m running.
The SHRED (specifically level 2) kicks my ass every time. And I love Jillian screaming at me. Is that weird? Maybe…
JIllian, she kills but it’s a ‘glorious burn’ lol
When I do DVD workouts I like 10 minute Trainer workouts stacked together.
I LOVE the 30 Day Shred! I find that I really see my endurance build because of it!
That reminds me, I gotta start it again tonight!
Another happy 30-Day Shredder here! But always on the lookout for another great workout DVD!
I have only tried one fitness DVD and that was the 30 day shred with jillian…she is tough!
I’m another reader who LOVES Jillian’s 30-day shred! Levels 2 and 3 are pretty intense and I always feel like I got in a good workout when I’m finished.
Mine is definitely Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. I am not always the best at sticking with a DVD till the end, but this is so short, I get a great workout and don’t get bored.
I love The Firm workout DVDs and Namaste Yoga on FitTV
I love my 10 min. solution Rapid Results Pilates workout! You can pick and choose to customise, or do the whole 50 min dvd. It ROCKS! Plus the Stretch sequence at the end is a must do after any activity!
Happy birthday to Megan!!! I love Jackie Warner’s DVD’s, and watching her work out is an inspiration!
Ok, I’m probably older than a lot of your readers, but when I was in college, my friends and I would move all the furniture out into the hallway and do some Tae Bo! We just loved jumping and sweating with Billy Blanks. We thought we were bad-ass.
That looks like a good workout video. My fav is a yoga DVD that I have. I forget the name, but it’s difficult yet relaxing at the same time!
I love Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. She really knows how to make you sweat!
I love Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred…it gets me every time!
Happy Birthday Megan!
I just started Jillian’s 30 Day Shred, so that gets my vote.
I have a 10 minute pilates video that I love. The stretching one is the best in the morning!
Hi Megan~
I have been reading your blog for the past year and have never commented on your posts, so I thought why not now…. I love the Sparkpeople website and have lost pounds using it. I would love to try out the Sparkpeople dvd. My favorite workout dvd is Jillian Michael’s 30 day shred.
I’ve never tried a workout DVD, but I have Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred coming from Netflix tomorrow! I’m pretty excited! Would love for this one to start my collection
It’s a little old school at this point but to mix it up I will throw on Tae Bo. For more everyday use I have a series of 10 min pilates that I try to do each morning. After walking the dog being able to sneak in a quick 10 minutes for myself is great!
That looks great — like pumpkin bread for breakfast!
I love the Shred but haven’t done it in ages. Great workout, though.
mine is windsor pilates 20 minute workout… i wish it was a bit more fast paced because i know all of the moves so i don’t need explanation but it;s a fun quick workout!
that baked oameal looks awesome! I love Jillian Michaels’ 30 day shred!
Jillian Michael’s 30 day shred never fails to kick my tail – its gotta be Jillian for me!
i really like jillian michaels 30 day shred but looking for something new to try!
Ohh thats a toughie!! For a stand alone, i love tae bo advanced. For a quickie, its gotta be Shred!!
I love Billy Banks Taebo Cardio!!!
My favorite workout dvd is the good ole’ 30 day shred with Jillian.
Jillian Michael’s 30 day shred!
I’m a Leslie Sansone Walk Away The Pounds girl… I love that I can do it without too much thought or coordination.
i agree, NMTZ kills me everytime!
I like all of Jillian’s DVD’s and the Biggest Loser Ones. My favorite is Jillian’s last chance workout!
I love No More Trouble Zones too! I always feel the burn when I do that video.
I love Jillians 30 day shred!
My favorite is the Billy Blanks’s Taebo workout video from the ’90s. It helped me shed 5 pounds!
Yummy oats! My favorite video is Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. My muscles burn for days!
I actually don’t have a favorite workout dvd because I’ve just never found one that I have loved. This one looks good though & I would love to try it!
My favorites are Rodney Yee yoga workouts. LOVE him!
Oh my fav is Jillians no more trouble zones too, the best strength workout I could ask for!
My favorite is Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred, although I have to say it’s the only workout dvd I have. It would be great to have another option and workout to try to supplement my runs!
No More Trouble Zones. I have only done the on Demand version. I tried to buy the DVD at Target this weekend but they were sold out. Since it was on sale, I got a rain check and I will definitely be going back to get my own copy soon!
I have a Power Yoga video by Giam. It is great, makes me sweat, and I feel completely relaxed when it is over.
Anything on exercise tv
Denise Austin’s Hit The Spot Pilates is always my at home go to workout. My abs are always screaming at the end. I also really like TBL’s Yoga and Cardio Max DVDs. You can also never go wrong with an old Tae Bo VHS!!!
I love any of the DVDs by Jillian Michaels or Jackie Warner. They really help me get my strength training in with killer workouts!
My favorite is Jillian’s No More Trouble Zones too – and this morning I just discovered it was no longer available on exercise tv! I am devastated! I hope I win!
I love 30 day Shred, but right now I’m in love with a “Yoga Conditioning for Weight Loss” DVD. You can choose which person to follow and the moves are modified based on ability level. As a bigger girl, I appreciate size and possible limitations being taken into account during yoga!
I love the Physique 57 DVDs. You really feel them the next day!
My favorite is probably 30 day shred
I love Rainbeau Mars’ Yoga for Beauty DVDs. The 30 Day Shred is great too but I haven’t done it in awhile.
I have yet to find a good DVD, but I have to say that after reading all of these comments, I am going to be buying 30 day shred!
I never use DVDs but I have done a few YouTube videos (which are basically the same thing!). And honestly, the only two I have done are the 30 Day Shred and Spark People. I didn’t even know SparkPeople had a DVD out!! I actually like SparkPeople video a little bit more bc I’m not a hardcore worker-outter (pardon my brain fart) and Jillian’s “encouragement” is sometimes a little hurtful.
Great baked oatmeal by the way!! =] I’m curious though, is the texture that much of a difference? I know you said you don’t like hot oatmeal, but wouldn’t this be considered hot, too? I don’t experiment much in the kitchen so the whole new texture, taste, etc. thing is kind of new to me.
I love the Shred and The Firm. I used the The Firm all through college. It is great!
I am so old school – but I really like my tae bo dvds from like 10 years ago!
My favorite DVD workout is The Biggest Loser’s Cardio Sculpt. It kicks my butt every time!
I love Jillian Michaels 30-day Shred. It’s quick and tough for winter days when I don’t have time to drive to the gym!
I like Billy Blanks Tae-bo DVDs
Jillian Michael 30 Day Shred
I like the 30 day shred
I’ve got a soft spot for Denise Austin – how does her hair always look so great when she’s working out?!! I really like her pilates DVDs. She’s a bit calmer than her usual peppy self – very soothing but still encouraging and positive.
i love the p90x yoga video!
I don’t do many video workouts, but (like so many others) I have really enjoyed 30 Day Shred with Jillian Michaels.
Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred. She clearly knows what she’s doing with all these responses in her favor!
I’m a big fan of Jillian’s BFBM… like everyone else it seems… haha. But back in the day, my fave TAPE was Billy Blanks Tae-Bo, specifically the abs and glutes one. THat guy cracked me up.
I don’t really have a “favorite”. I am actually wanting to incorporate more dvds for workouts. Right now I just have a few yoga ones. Love to try this!
I actually really enjoy the new yogalosophy video!
I would have to agree that Jillian Michael s No More Trouble Zones rocks.
My favorite is definitely The 30 Minute Shred. Nothing beats it!
Jillian’s Shred DVD is the first and only workout video I’ve ever done so I guess it’s my favorite by default.
Wow… lots of Jillian love going on here!
I LOVE her DVD’s… but I’ve been doing DVD’s at home for years – I wouldn’t get in a work out otherwise!
My go to is a video called Body Sculpt by The Firm. It’s a total body work out… all weights! The moves are slow… so you can lift HEAVY! I ALWAYS feel this one the next day… and the few days after! It’s killer!
I’m a 30 Day Shred fan–though I’ve never made it up to Level 3…
I would have to say Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred. She talking can get annoying, but I always feel the burn.
I’d love to win this – I’m getting a little tired of my current DVD rotation! I usually prefer running/the gym, but use DVDs to supplement with weight training since I have no clue what I’m doing! I also love Jillian’s No More Trouble Zones … it’s a complete body workout!
Ooooh I am DYING for this DVD – my favorite is the OLD SKOOL VHS (we keep a VCR just for these) 8 minute videos – I do ABS, arms, buns, and thighs for a nice 32 minute workout!
I love the Leslie Sansone walking DVDs… if for no other reason than I don’t have to THINK while doing them. 4 easy moves and some of the longer (faster) DVDs are sort of intense cardio.
I also LOVE the 10-minute Solutions series. What can I say? I’m a busy girl! I love DVDs that allow me to do 10 minutes – or MORE! Love combining shorter segments.
This DVD seems perfect for that!
I’ve got to agree with you on the No More Trouble Zones!
I love Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred for days when I don’t have much time. I feel like I get a decent workout in a short amount of time.
Oooh I’d love to try this! My current fave is 30 day shred.
i really like anything in the Firm series on strength training…they always combine basic moves with more creative ones and it leaves me sore every time
Hey Meghann! Thanks for the awesome giveaway! I’d have to say my favorite workout DVD is the Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred! It’s one of the few workout videos that really challenges me and I never get tired of. Plus Jillian is a beast that keeps me moving :]
Jillian Michaels’ 30 day shred for sure!
I like the 30 day shred or anything Biggest Loser!
Biggest looser bootcamp.
love my karen voight yoga dvd…:)
i really dig this crunch yoga/pilates blend. its a decent stretch and strenghthener, not too long, and most importantly, the instructor ellen is not annoying.
would love to try jilian’s stuff, just havent put down the dough to get it yet!
I like the Biggest Loser’s Last Chance Workout and the Firm videos.
I like the 10-minute series of DVDs. My favorite is the exercise ball one. It breaks down strength training into 10-minute sessions focused on certain muscle groups all done with the exercise ball. The 10-minute sessions really make it easier for me to fit in strength training in my busy life.
30 Day Shred kicks my booty every time
I love Jackie Warner’s Total Body Circuit. Jackie is not nearly as annoying to listen to as Jillian! (don’t phone it in!)
I have two favorites – Walk Away the Pounds and TBL Bootcamp. Both are amazing for different reasons!
Happy Birthday Girl!
I love p90X Plyometrics.. and hip hop abs, yes, I said it. hip hop abs!
My Favorite is Jillian Michael’s Blast Fat, Boost Metabolism. It totally changed the way I looked at DVD workouts. I couldn’t stop raving about it when I first got it, and I ended up turning my 35-year old roommate on to it too–now HE can’t stop raving about what a good workout it is.
My first comment to you! I like Kim Kardashian’s “Fit in your Jeans by Friday”. Haha, have you seen what she wears in that video?!
Definitly Biggest Loser Yoga
Right now I alternate between Jillian’s Shred and Cardio Blast. I just checked out the No More Trouble Zones and I’m still sore 3 days later.
I have a pilates workout DVD from “The Method” that combines a dance workout, toning moves, and the typical pilates core work. It leaves me feeling strong, lengthened, and refreshed!
i actually really like the Biggest Loser DVDs.
Right now I am doing the 30 day Shred and loving it
Love the 30-day shred! Thanks for the giveaway!
I too am a fan of Jillian Michael’s No More Trouble Zones. That lady pushes you all the way to the end. And even though she’s only directing me through my tv set – I’m still intimidated by her!!! Best work out – lets me break a sweat, feel the burn, and ache the next day, letting me know I really did work my body.
I love the 30-Day Shred, but I think my favorite workout dvd is a pilates one with Ana Caban. She is crazy and can contort her body like no other!
My favorite DVD workout is Rodney Yee’s Power Yoga. It’s an amazing and surprisingly easy-to-follow DVD that I use on my non-running days. I love yoga when it’s fast-paced, and this is definitely that.
I agree that No More Trouble Zones is a great strength training workout. I also am inexperienced at strength training, whenever I try to do it myself I get REALLY bored really quickly and I like how she always puts two moves together so you really feel the burn. You also hit EVERY muscle on that dvd. I get a little sick of hearing her talk sometimes, so i usually just mute it and play my own music. workout DVDs are great for me though cause they are so quick and save the time of going to the gym! I just wish i had some mirrors up cause i think that helps a lot too!
10-minute Solutions Hot Body Boot Camp is the only workout DVD I own – It’s nice because it has 5 10-minute segments that you can do alone or combine in a playlist for a longer workout. Very flexible!
What a neat oatmeal idea!
My favorite DVD workout is Denise Austin’s “Shrink your Female Fat Zones”. The name is totally ridiculous but I love all the moves.
I’ve heard that a lot of people find Jillian Michaels annoying on her workout DVDs, but honestly, I don’t care that much about the instructor. All I know is that all of her DVDs (30-Day Shred, No More Trouble Zones, and Banish Fat Boost Metabolism) are CHALLENGING, and that is what I care about!!! So they’re definitely my favorites!
I’ve never been big into workout dvds b/c I feel silly doing them with roommates. Now that I live alone I would love to give some a try!!
I liked P90X before I got pregnant. Now in my third trimester, I do a prenatal workout video, but the 10 minute videos will be perfect for finding my old form once the baby is here and I have limited time….
I hate hot oatmeal also–I want to like it for the health benefits but I just don’t. I started opening my instant oatmeal packets and putting it on plain greek yogurt with fruit–great plain or with flavored oatmeal packets for a hint of flavor.
My favorite workout out DVD is P90X. Not such a fan during but after I feel it!!
I don’t have any DVD workouts so if I won this one, it would be my favourite!
I am not sure if this counts as a “DVD” but I’ve been using EA Sports for the Wii, it gives a good workout and it’s a nice switch-up from out door activities (particularly in this -15 Cel. cold spell we’ve been having) brrrr
As an aside, I am pretty new to your blog and I LOVE it, you are part of my mid-day ritual. I am going to be cooking some chickpea blondies for a long train ride I’ll be embarking on soon.
30 Day Shred! I need to get back into it, though. Maybe having a new dvd would help.
I like Denise Austin’s Daily Dozen. It seems very similar to this one -so I’d love to try it!
anything by Jillian Michaels or the Biggest Loser! I don’t have a gym membership so when I need to so something other than running those are the dvds I go to!
My favorite is a Violet Zaki workout that’s a lot of lunges, kickboxing and general cardio-intense moves. It’s only 30 minutes but it kicks your butt.
I’ve never used a workout DVD yet
…but I would love to start!
Hi,
I love Leslie Sansone “Walk Away The Pounds”. I reeeally want to try Sparkpeople workout DVD’s….this is a great giveaway!
To be honest, I really haven’t tried any DVD workouts recently. But I have been known to love the old school Tae Bo VHS!!
Although I have a love/hate relationship with Jillian Michaels, I just ordered the “Firm in 4 weeks” from Shape Magazine, that I am eager to try!
I am totally a 30-Day Shred girl
but I would love to try this Sparkpeople DVD too!
My favorite workout DVD is Jillian Michaels: Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism.
I would so appreciate winning your SparkPeople video because I am burned out by my limited collection of workout DVDs. This winter has really used my DVDs up.
I like Billy Blanks Tae Bo! Oh and I made baked oatmeal this morning and gave you a shout out on my blog
http://foodinmyreallife.blogspot.com/2010/02/bootcamp-army-of-one.html
I love love love the 30 day shred!! All time favorite!
My favorite has to be The Firm Total Body Sculpt, I’ve loved that one for years and it continues to be my go to for workouts at home. BUT it is LOOONG so I would love this shorter workout video
awesome giveaway
i love sadie nardini’s dvd
My favorite workout video is Jilliam Michaels 30 day shred. Back in High School I was obssessed with Billy Blanks Tae Bo workouts. Loved them!
I’ve enjoyed Rodney Yee’s yoga DVDs, but I’m definitely interested in some more strength training!
It’s not a DVD, but I love the different workouts on on demand tv!
I still do Jane Fonda’s step, on VHS!! Think I need some new stuff?
My favorite workout video is Jillians 30 day shred. Quick but killer workout when you can’t make it to the gym. Would love to try out this one, it looks awesome to add in a quick morning workout.
I like all my yoga DVDs, especially one called Five Day Fit Yoga.
I can’t pick just one! I love the Shred, but I also really like a NIA dvd I have. But sometimes I’m in the mood for Namaste yoga. I would love to win the spark workout dvd because I need a NEW strength video. Mine is getting old (and easy!).
Just like everyone else said, 30 Day Shred! My favorite video for yoga is Baron Baptiste’s Unlocking Athletic Power…I attribute that to my 5K and 10K PR’s! I’d love to try P90X too…
The 30 day shred is my favorite workout DVD!!
I love Yoga Booty Ballet – though I much prefer to go in person since I live in LA.
I don’t have one (yet) but I want to start using DVDs as an option for when I can’t get to the gym or want to do something different from the elliptical I have at home!! So, bring ‘em on!
I like Jillian’s 30 Day shred as well. I am always working on core strength and arm muscles. Just looking at Jillian’s arms is motivation for me to keep going!!!
I love The Biggest Loser’s Bootcamp workout! Gotta love Trainer Bob.
I’ve had a Kathy Smith (I think?) yoga and pilates DVD for years that I love — it is challenging, but not frustratingly so, and a really great workout.
The 30 Day Shred kicks my butt every time!
Have to agree that Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred is a killer workout DVD.
Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred!
I’m a big fan of the 30 day Shred – however, i know it’s not a dvd but i also love the EA Active for the Wii.
I don’t like hot oats either so I may be sold on the baked oatmeal idea-thanks!
Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred is my favorite. I love how it offers 3 different 20 minute workouts. I think they are a great workout esp when you are short on time!
I have quite a collection of fitness DVDs. Right now I’m all about Physique 57. It may not be a sweat-pouring-off-of-you-calorie-burning workout but it’s a good one. I also have agree with about 90% of your commenters though anything by Jillian is great. Love Banish Fat for cardio and Trouble Zones for all over strength.
my most recent fitness dvd find is exhale core fusion pure abs and arms. it’s also broken up into 10 minute segments and it’s great in a pinch!
Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred!
Tai-bo! Woo-hoo!
Jillian’s 30 Day Shred!
I like the 30 day Shred!
I love yogadownload! Especially the free ones
Not gonna lie…Carmen Electra aerobic strip tease videos! So fun.
I have a pilates workout DVD that came with a pilates kit that I just purchased. Haven’t had the chance to try it out yet. Other than that, I like the SparkPeople workouts online! =]
I have a love/hate relationship with 30 Day Shred.
I love my Ttapp DVDs.They are comprehensive and low impact.Plus, you can combine them with other types of cardio or by itself is awesome! cc
Crunch: Choose Your Workout Pilates
Anna Caban’s Pilates for Weight Loss Maintenance… it kicks my booty!
Honestly, the only videos I work out to are Tae-Bo VHS tapes. My mom is a personal trainer and she swears by them (she’s coming up on 56 and still does them to this day, actually!), and I’ve grown to love them. They always give me the best workout.
Since I still have one of those old-fashioned DVD+VCR players, I’ve had no reason to upgrade them to DVD yet
INSANITY!!!! by shaun T
Jillian Michael’s Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism. Its is hardcore and requires no additional equipment. I am also a huge fan of TaeBo.
I would love a new DVD to add to my rotation.
For sure, Jillian Michael’s “Boost your Mestabolism”! Makes your butt burn, in a good way:)
p90x or the 30 day shred
I was a mad fan of Tae Bo for years (and still am!). It makes for GREAT arms and abs
So the reason I neeeeed this workout dvd is because I don’t actually have a favorite workout video. The only set of workout videos I have are actually on VHS which is just horrible for trying to do certain ones. I have “Windsor Pilates Total Body Sculpting” and never really got into it
Youtube is alright but I would love to have a workout dvd!
thirty day shred b/c its so fast and I get bored!! and Bryan Krest yoga!
It’s a tie between 30-day shred and Jackie Warner’s 1-on-1 series!
I really like jillian michaels 30 day shred
Shiva Rea Yoga Shakti! It’s a great vinyasa yoga workout, especially when you’re not able to make it to your favorite class. LOVE IT.
I really like 20 Day Shred. I have followed the Spark videos on their website before, they are easy to follow and do the trick!
P90X rocks! Just started the 2nd month this week and I’ve been feeling really strong!
I have to say I like the Get Ripped! series by Jari Love. I thought they would be cheesy, but after 1/2 of one workout, she was kickin’ my butt. . in a good way:)
Just got Jillian’s 30-Day Shread! Can’t wait to try it. That and I’m a big fan of Fitness Fusion Yoga on Exercise TV…
I’m with you on this one!! I LOVE Jillian Michaels No More Trouble Zones. OOOOH THE BUUUURN! I also love her Banish Fat and Boost metabolism. It is such an amazing cardio workout when you want to mix it up.
Mine would have to be Jillian Michaels 30 day shred, its short but still is a great workout!
I love any of the 10-Minute Solution DVDs. A lot of variety and flexibility.
Jillian’s 30 Day Shred!
I love all of the Jillian Michael’s DVDS, especially 30 Day Shred.
Jane Fonda! Ha! Just kidding–i too love me some 30 day shreddin’ action!
I’d love to win!
The Biggest Loser Cardio Max is my favorite!! Love that one!
30 Day Shred for sure!!
I like Jillian’s 30 Day Shred!!
yay for someone else who doesn’t like hot oatmeal.
perhaps I will try this then!!
I love any of Jillian’s DVDs…Banish fat, boost metabolism/No more Trouble Zones/30 Day Shred.
I don’t have a favorite work out DVD. That’s why I need to win this one
Quick Fix Arms & Legs or any Minna Lessig video. She’s so fun and isn’t afraid to let loose and do silly dance moves. Love her. But i wish I could find them all as DVDs. I found them as VHS’s. booo
My favorite is the biggest loser yoga workout…it is quite a workout!
I have disliked oatmeal all my life, but your recipes make me want to try it again!
Onto the DVD, my favorite DVD workout is a “Ball and Band” workout set that I got for cheap at a book sale- but this Spark workout DVD sounds great! I love the option of picking certain segments- it’s like 8 DVD’s in one!
I’ve been rocking to billy banks’ tae-bo AMPED! dvds… that little AMP bar doesnt weigh much (maybe a pound) but ohemgee. what a workout
i love all dvds by jillian michaels – she is a workout machiiine!
baked oatmeal looks delish!
I haven’t tired too many DVDs yet, but I love the 30 day shred!
i really love my gaiam pilates dvd. my roommate has the skinny bitch dvd which makes me laugh but apparently gives her a good work out
I haven’t done workout videos in a while, but I did just order the 30 day shred from Amazon. Maybe it will become my favorite. I’m not a fan of working out inside, but I definitely need to add more strength training to my workouts. Amy
My favorite work-out DVD currently is Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. I used to have a VCR tape of a step routine I liked, but the machine ate it.
I love Biggest Loser Boot Camp Workout. I think its great that it allows you to customize your workout so you’re not stuck doing the same routine each time.
I love the 30 day shred!!
I love Jillian Michaels 30 day shred video and I’ve been contemplating buying this SparkPeople DVD b/c I’ve been a long time Spark member and I recently purchased The Spark book, I would love to win a copy!
What a yummy looking breakfast!
My favourite DVD would (also) have to be the 30 day shred!
I wondered if this DVD would be worth buying. I sometimes watch their videos online to do the short 10 minute workouts and they are nice to jump start your morning or if you only have a short time. My favorite DVD I own is Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred. I should check out her No More Trouble Zones.
No More Trouble Zones is ROUGH, but I love it. I notice a difference in my thighs and abs immediately.
I’ve never really explored the world of workout dvds, but this one looks like a good one and I’d love to try it!
It’s old-school but I really like 8 Minute Abs and Abs of Steel. They make me laugh when I watch them too- which is an ab workout in itself!
30 day shred too!
My favorite DVD would be the 30 day shred. It’s a tough, quick workout that I can throw in the DVD player when I’m too lazy to walk to the gym. I also have a yoga DVD that I love (cannot remember what it’s called!!); I use it on days that I feel tight and need to loosen up.
I enjoy the P90 Yoga DVD. It is more strength training than zen, but it makes me feel great!
I’ve never tried one!!! There’s a first for everything
I love the Jillian Michaels DVDS! She has a yoga DVD coming out in March that I can’t wait to get.
I agree with you — No More Trouble Zones. If you use heavy weights, it’s killer.
Jillian Michaels 30 day shred is a great workout!
I like one of my Firm’s Boot Camp dvd! thanks for the giveaway:)
I like anything by Prevention or Jillian
P90X! it’s the first workout on DVD i’ve ever done. my parents completed it and got it for me for christmas and my roommates and i just started it sunday
Baked oatmeal sounds like a wonderful idea! I have a love/hate relationship with instant oatmeal – every once in a while I get a craving for it, but I usually only get about halfway through before finding it gross and ditching the rest.
My favorite work out DVD is my Dirty Dancing dance/cardio DVD. I used to take dance classes and its my favorite way to get in my daily work out.
I actually have never done a DVD workout! I always enter giveaways for them so I can try one because I think they would be great–I just haven’t gotten around to buying one! Thanks for the opportunity.
Jillian Michaels’ “No More Trouble Zones” and 30 Day Shred are my faves!
I used to love Tae-Bo! I must say that I haven’t found any faves lately….I need to work on that!
Jillian’s 30 Day Shred! I’m currently doing it for 30 days in a row – today is Day 5!
Definately Jillian Michaels Banish Fat Boost Metabolism, always a killer on the legs!
I’m going to go with a classic- MTV’s The Grind. It might sound silly, but it’s pretty awesome when you want a good throwback.
I love the Billy Blanks Tae Bo DvD’s. I think I have almost all of them.
But this one sounds like a great quickie workout to have on hand.
My favorite DVD is Jackie Warner’s 1-On-1 workouts! Strength training is my New Year’s resolution, so this DVD would be perfect!!
I have a Latin Dance DVD from Dancing with the Stars that I LOVE to do, because it doesn’t feel like exercising at all.
P90X is a great workout!
I love all of Denise Austin’s workouts!
I agree with you, I love Jillian Michaels No More Trouble Zones!
I love my Zumba dvd’s!
looove yoga booty ballet currently
I think working out to a dvd is great because I can never motivate myself to lift weights. the only really intense one I’ve done is Jillian’s 30 day shred and it certainly is a challenge!
I think I like carmen electra’s sexy stripper workouts. A little easy but so much fun!
A nice change of pace.
I also like jillian’s 30 day shred for a real workout!
I’ve just started getting into DVD workouts…don’t actually *own* any yet, but I’ve been exploring ExerciseTV’s site for free ones and have found quite a few that I really like!
I love the Turbo Jam workouts!
Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shread all the way!
Pilates DVD’s! I’m trying to step up my game before trying out actual classes
30 day shred!
I am loving Personal Training with Jackie Warner: Power Circuit Training. I am 23 weeks pregnant and this video is perfect.
Jillian Micheal’s 30 Day Shred is one of my favorites too! I also enjoy a goos Gaiam Yogo Workout after a hard week.
Of course the 30 day shred…the best 20 minute workout!
Just like most others…I’ve gotta say Jillian’s 30 Day Shred! LOVE it so much and it really helped me begin my weight loss journey
I love the Gaiam yoga dvds! Thanks for the giveaway!
My favorite workout is Gaiam dvd that came with my balance ball, it’s so fun!
Okay so the “Baked” Pumpkin oatmeal looks delicious!! I will be trying that one soon!! I really enjoy reading your blog and just recently got enough courage to attempt my own foodie blog! I look forward to learning more about the blogging community, as I myself get more involved in it. And as always I look forward to reading yours daily!

The 30 Day Shred!
I think that Jillian Michaels No More Trouble Zones hits all the bases for me!
I really like Turbo jam *even though the girl is annoying). And the Self/Shape DVDS
My fav DVD Banish fat boost metabolims from Jillian Michaels!
I too love the 30 day Shred, but I also love Tracey Mallett workouts. Her Boot Camp will kick some serious butt and she’s very “real”. Her videos are not over scripted and model-y
I have to jump on the Jillian Michaels train…30 Day Shred is more like “20 minute sweatfest” for me, but I love it!
Honestly, I usually do not do very many dvd workouts. However, I think I would pick the Jillian Michaels Boost Metabolism cardio workout. I’m anxious to try more dvds. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
I had a few fabulous pilates dvds that I totally loved, and a few fun dance ones as well! I haven’t used any in awhile, but I’m definitely looking for some new workout dvds try out, especially with my hectic schedule!
I have never used any workout Dvds, so I don’t have a favorite, but I’ve always wanted too! I’m like you also- I have a lack of strength training experience! I would like this giveaways so I could finally start strength training and using Dvds.
Jillian’s 30 Day Shred!! SO good!
I have an old workout video that I just love to pieces. It’s called Emergency Workout by Minna Lessig. (http://www.amazon.com/Minna-Emergency-Workout-Lessig/dp/B00005BJXP/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1265257905&sr=8-3)
I used it to lose my first 50 lbs, so I’m guessing nowadays it’s not as hard core as I’d like (and my copy is VHS so I don’t use it anymore!) But it’s my favorite because it got me on my journey to health.
I don’t have a favorite because I don’t have any workout DVDs – yet!?! But, I do like to do vidoes from yogadownload.com
Jillian Michaels’ really is my favorite. I like the Trouble Zones, but, truthfully, I’ve only done it twice
30 day shred!
Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred is my go to DVD! I absolutely love it, and I think she’s amazing.
Definitely the “So You Think You Can Dance” DVDs! Now that I’ve got the choreography down, I do both DVDs back-to-back and skip through the parts where they teach you the steps. I feel more toned and flexible thanks to Twitch, Travis, Courtney, Katie, Dmitry, and Lauren!
10 Minute Solution Target Toning
It’s similar to the DVD you tried today and I really like the 10 minute segments. But I’ve had it for years and think I have the whole thing memorized. So I’d love a new version!!!
Oh I hope I am not too late! This DVD looks awesome. My fav workout DVD is Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred : )
Jillian Michaels’s 30 Day Shred is my favorite that I’ve tried so far.
I love Turbo Jam and my favorite is her 20 minute one. That always gets me started and the music and kickboxing let me release any tension from earlier in the day.
