(This was supposed to post last night. Please enjoy while I write my marathon recap. AHHHH!!!
)
My clothes are laid out, the alarm is set, and my stomach is doing summersaults. In just a few hours I will be making my way to the starting line. I’m scared and I’m excited, but I am also relieved! I’ve made it to this point and that’s all that matters.
They say putting the effort into training for a marathon is harder than actually running the marathon, and honestly at this point I have to agree.
Once all my honey dos were taken care of this morning, all the stress that was building inside of me slowly started to disappear.
The disney marathon blogger lunch Ashley had so graciously planned was great.

I believe there were around 30 of us there and the conversation flowed effortlessly all lunch. We all had so much today about running, food and life. It’s always fun to get to know other bloggers in person rather than on a screen.

I sat next to the adorable twins from Pure2Raw and was fascinated to learn how they trained for the marathon on a raw diet.

These ladies are so sweet and really a pleasure to sit next to.
When it came time to order I was craving an omelet.

I ordered the greek omelet with potatoes and wheat toast. The food was sadly very greasy and disappointing. However, I was starving and ate the majority of my plate.
Plus I had a bite of Derek’s BIG burger.

Katy proudly displayed her medal from her half marathon this morning.

Get a group of bloggers together and you will never be able to pull them apart.

We could have sat around for hours talking, but had to force ourselves to leave around 3:00 pm to check into our hotel.
It felt great to check in and relax at the hotel for a little bit. I enjoyed a nice juicy apple while vegging.

A few people were commenting on why I am staying in a hotel if I already live in the Orlando area. The truth is I live about 25 minutes from Disney World and would have to had wake up at 2:00am and fight traffic for a parking spot if I had stayed at home.
Staying on Disney property will simply alleviate stress on my part. The bus system they have set up between the marathon and the hotels is truly remarkable. I will simply wake up and be bused to the starting line.
Monica from RunEatRepeat and I booked our hotels simtuameously and were able to land hotel rooms right next to each other.

I met Monica in Long Beach last May. She moved to the Washington DC area in the fall and I have enjoyed keeping up with her blog as she trained for Disney in the cold and snow. Little did she know she would be running in similar conditions as back home.
Monica and her husband joined my family and Melissa for dinner at a hole in a wall italian restaurant we discovered in the Buena Vista area outside Disney.

The table started with some bruschetta

I had a piece with my salad starter

Melissa and I shared a medium vegg-ified pizza

My portion x2

The pizza as great! The crust was thin and the veggies were abundant and fresh! A great pre-race choice.
The internet seems to be out in our hotel room, so I have put this post in my Mom’s trusty hands to post when she arrives at her hotel room.
The race officially starts at 5:40am which gives me a 3:00am wake up call. Yikes!! Right now the only element I a nervous about is the weather. If I can conquer the predicted 26 degree (feels like 18) temps then I can conquer anything!!
Wish me luck!!!!!!

Haha, it’s so strange seeing pictures of girls from other blogs I read all crossing over into everyone else’s! You guys have such a fantastic blogging community over there, I wish there was one like it in England!
what a feeling!
Well done on the run by the way

Can’t wait to read the recap — way to go!
Yummy Italian dinner!!
Wow so many bloggers in one place. I’d imagine it was interesting watching every single person at the table photograph their food.
looks like a fun blogger lunch. I think I feel like Italian now. Yummy!!
Can’t wait for your marathon recap!!
I totally agree with your hotel decision. The only Disney race I’ve ever driven to the start of was a 5k, and for all the longer races, I prefer to stay in a host hotel and take the buses. They are very efficient and guaranteed to get you there on time.
I’m glad you had a good time at the blogger lunch! Can’t wait to read the race recap
I can’t wait to read how it went!
Oh what a fun day – can’t wait to read your race recap.
It is so wonderful that you could share the experience with so many friends
i’m so excited about the race recap…it always amazes me the journey that running 26.2 miles will take you on! hope you’re resting and eating lots of yummy food!
Great looking pizza, wow training on a raw diet sounds interesting.
so much fun!
Is that restaurant called Peach Valley? It looks exactly like one here in Gainesville. The Greek omelet I had there was quite good but the potatoes were very greasy.
