Stressing

by Meghann on January 9, 2010

Ahhhh!!!!

I am officially in stressed out mode!!

I’m not sure if its the anxiety of the race thats taking me over or the anxiety of all I have to do before the race, but I feel like I am on edge. I’m almost on the verge of tears and every little thing puts me in to total freak out mode.

Poor Derek has been putting up with my stress. I may have snapped at him one too many times, but thankfully he is still here being supportive as ever!

Luckily, the stress had yet to kick in when I casually awoke this morning. I took my time tracking all my friends running the half marathon today and watching tv in bed.

Then Melissa and I set out on the task of making waffles for breakfast.

Don’t you just love my Pink jammies?

Maddie joined us for breakfast at the table.

My waffles were topped with a pear I had heated up with a little pear butter and strawberries.

Hot cup of tea.

After breakfast stress kicked in majorly when I realized it was 9:00 and I still had to pack, shower, dress, blog, bring Maddie to my parents (who live 45 minutes away), pick up Sabrina and her husband from Disney, and make it to the blogger lunch by 12:30!!

Yikes!! I’m getting anxious now just thinking about it!

We made it in the car by 10:15 and are now currently on our way to my parent’s. A moment ago I had the other ear off of last night’s reeses covered Mickey rice krispie treat to help de-stress. Chocolate does wonders. :)

I am also blogging while Derek drives in the rain. Seriously, he is the best!!! I hope he understands how much I really, really, really appreciate him even if I may stress out easily. (So sorry!! :( )

Congrats to all the Disney half marathoners who ran in the sleet, rain, and cold this morning. You are all amazing!

I’ll be back tonight with my final post before the marathon. I just have to remind myself to BREATHE! :)

Don’t Stress! Just think about how fun it will be tomorrow (well, after you’re finished). I was totally nervved the night before my first marathon, but a glass (and a half) of wine solved that problem!

you have a right to be anxious as you’ve prepared so much for this marathon. that’s great you have a support system who are helping you. breakfast looked delish and i love the HUGE size almond butter. costco? yum!

You’re going to do great! I as SO nervous before I ran my first marathon, but everything fell into place, and worked out! I also was in debates about which pace group I should run with (the 4 hr or 4:15). I was advised to start in the slower group, and then move up if I felt OK. I ended up moving up around mile 15, and ended up running a sub 4 hour race! That way, its easier on you mentally (and we know that 26.2 miles just as physically challenging as mentally challenging) to move up a group, rather than drop back. You are well prepared, and will rock this thing. Don’t forget to enjoy every minute of your race, it goes fast! Good luck!!!

BTW, I hope Orlando (and Florida) warm up soon! It was cold when I was there two weeks ago–guess there will be no bragging to my co-workers about the heat! >.<
