A couple of sad things happened this morning…
- I left Maddie in the care of her dog sitter and had to say good bye for an entire week.
- After spending over an hour at the Apple store I was informed the wrong memory chip had been ordered for my computer and they didn’t have the correct chip in stock because I have an ‘older generation’ mac
On the bright side a couple of good things happened as well…
- Maddie was all smiles when I left her and was thrilled to spend the next week with her new boxer friend, Mugsy. Sarah has already sent me three text messages informing me how well they are getting along.
- I was able to return the wrong memory chip and order the correct one which should be waiting for me when I return next week
Oh… and did I mention I am leaving for a full of Colorado skiing in the morning?!?! EEkkk!!!!
I always prefer to look on the bright side of life.
I don’t know what we were thinking, but going to the mall the day after Christmas may not have been the best idea. It was busy, busy, busy!
By the time we were ready for lunch there was zero chance of locking down a table in the food court. Instead we headed outside and had a nice picnic on the sidewalk.
(please excuse the smudge on my lens in these photos)

I ordered a Mediterranean Grilled Chicken Salad from Nature’s Table.

It was very fresh and tasty.
Despite the crowds I was able to track down a few belated Christmas presents before heading home.

My reward for a successful trip? A Gingerbread man!

I will be sad when these are all gone.
My Dad put the left over ham bone from christmas eve to good use in the form of soup!

He made 15 Bean soup and Split Pea Soup.

I couldn’t decide what I wanted, so I had a little of both.
With a piece of cornbread on the side.

The split bowl concept worked perfectly.
Dessert was a small scoop of ice cream and a peanut butter ball.

Got to catch some Zzzzs now. We have an early flight in the morning and have been warned to except some major crowds at OIA.
Good Night!!
