Christmas Eve Morning

by Meghann on December 24, 2009

Merry Christmas Eve!!!

I was practically giddy getting out of bed this morning. I just love the day before Christmas and can’t believe its finally here!

I started my morning with a little pre-run fuel in the form of a Gingerbread Man. I LOVE eating cookies before long runs. It feels naughty, but really the mix of carbs and sugars make homemade cookies the perfect pre-run snack!

A high school friend who randomly reads the blog is in town for Christmas, so I invited her out on a 10 mile run with Kelly and I. It was great running and catching up with her. There is seriously no better way to play catch than on a double digit run.

I was a little nervous on running the 10 miler just a few days after my 20 miles, but I felt great! My legs held their own and given the option I could have easily picked up the pace. I believe at one point I was even prancing and skipping on the run. I think the Christmas spirit adrenaline may have helped on that one. πŸ˜‰

The path I chose turned out to be 10.78 miles. My friend and I stopped at 10 and had a nice cool down walk for the remaining .78 miles. Kelly was having a little issue with her leg and ended up having to ditch us towards the end.

The weather was a perfect 65 degrees when we set out on the run. Perfect weather to test out the new Lululemon outfit I had purchased on Tuesday.

First of all – I am obsessed with the shorts. I was going on and on about how comfortable and breathable they were during the run. I want to go back and buy 6 more pairs so I have one for every day of the week.

I relied on the built in support for the top and was impressed on how supportive it actually was. I probably wouldn’t go any longer than 10 miles, but for the distance my tatas held their own. Also, the dry wicking material kept me dry and cool.

All and all a great combination of clothes. I think I may have drank the Lululemon kool aide. πŸ˜‰

My Dad had a great big breakfast waiting for us when we returned.

oh gosh! be careful, it gets dangerous once you drink the lululemon koolaid. I have an unhealthy addiction that eats up my disposable income. πŸ™‚

Do you ever have problems with running shorts riding up? I cannot seem to find a pair that don’t do that. I was wondering if Lululemon might be that pair.

8 Meghann December 24, 2009 at 12:53 pm

The shorts were great. No problems riding up! πŸ™‚

I always get excited on Christmas Eve, too. It’s a magical season!

12 Sarah December 24, 2009 at 12:49 pm

Which shorts did u get again? The speed shorts or the ultra shorts???

I guess there was success in the NO chafing department?!!! I had success with my target running skirt until last week when I chafed horribly between my legs. Now I really want to invest in lululemon gear!!! They have running skirts too!!! I’m obssessed with how cute the shorts are. Need some now

13 Meghann December 24, 2009 at 12:54 pm

The ultra shorts.

I have a problem chafing from cinched waist bands, these shorts were great because the the band was wide and smooth

Have a wonderful holiday!

Love the LULU! They may be a bit $$ but I still wear my original boogie crops I bought in 2002 when there was only one store on West 4th Avenue in Vancouver.

So worth it – and their stuff is obviously SO cute!

You look awesome in your Lululemon. Yup, it IS SO addicting. I bought my first outfit a couple of years ago and I’m hooked. Is that the Power Y tank? I love the color. Enjoy your time with your family =)

I agree they are actually the best shorts ever for runs, after my first run in them I went out and got 3 more pairs!

21 Karla December 24, 2009 at 3:07 pm

I’ve always wanted to get clothes at Lululemon but it’s sooo expensive! Maybe when I’m no longer a broke grad student living on loans…
Merry Christmas!

Holy goodness – 60 people?! We only had 65 people at our wedding and I can’t imagine 60 people at a family Christmas celebration! How awesome that you live so close to be able to celebrate with so many of your family members πŸ™‚

I really want some Lululemon stuff but I haven’t been able to stomach the cost since I don’t live near an outlet…although it may be worth it!

Merry Christmas Eve!
