The house is all decorated

The presents are wrapped

And the tables are set

Now all we need is for the guests to start arriving. Just a few short hours to go and according to my Mom we still have a lot to do.
We’ve been working nonstop to get this place spic and span for tonight.
When we broke for lunch I had the biggest craving for pumpkin yogurt and gingerbread men.

I just can’t get enough of these little guys.

I topped the pumpkin yogurt with a honeycrisp apple and pom

Then sprinkled the little man on top

RIP Gingerbread Dude
I’m jealous Anthony already got to open a present early – a collection of Sam Adam’s winter brews from my parents.

I hope he shares!
We discovered this morning that Maddie’s spay scar (from October) looks to be infected.

I spoke with the vet and he assured me the bump is more than likely a blister caused by the inner muscle scar rubbing on the outside scar or something along those lines. He told me not to stress and bring her in once Christmas is over.
She doesn’t seem to be in any pain, but it doesn’t stop me from worrying about my fur child.

She is also sporting a fashionable electric fence collar to keep her in my parent’s large yard while she is visiting.
Better get back to cleaning. I shall leave you with a photo of something that makes me alugh everytime I walk through the door.

Gotta love out doorman Chow getting into the christmas spirit.
Ho Ho Ho!

Merry Christmas Eve!!!
I was practically giddy getting out of bed this morning. I just love the day before Christmas and can’t believe its finally here!
I started my morning with a little pre-run fuel in the form of a Gingerbread Man. I LOVE eating cookies before long runs. It feels naughty, but really the mix of carbs and sugars make homemade cookies the perfect pre-run snack!
A high school friend who randomly reads the blog is in town for Christmas, so I invited her out on a 10 mile run with Kelly and I. It was great running and catching up with her. There is seriously no better way to play catch than on a double digit run.
I was a little nervous on running the 10 miler just a few days after my 20 miles, but I felt great! My legs held their own and given the option I could have easily picked up the pace. I believe at one point I was even prancing and skipping on the run. I think the Christmas spirit adrenaline may have helped on that one.
The path I chose turned out to be 10.78 miles. My friend and I stopped at 10 and had a nice cool down walk for the remaining .78 miles. Kelly was having a little issue with her leg and ended up having to ditch us towards the end.
The weather was a perfect 65 degrees when we set out on the run. Perfect weather to test out the new Lululemon outfit I had purchased on Tuesday.

First of all – I am obsessed with the shorts. I was going on and on about how comfortable and breathable they were during the run. I want to go back and buy 6 more pairs so I have one for every day of the week.

I relied on the built in support for the top and was impressed on how supportive it actually was. I probably wouldn’t go any longer than 10 miles, but for the distance my tatas held their own. Also, the dry wicking material kept me dry and cool.
All and all a great combination of clothes. I think I may have drank the Lululemon kool aide.
My Dad had a great big breakfast waiting for us when we returned.

biscuit & sausage gravy

scrambled eggs

grapes

Delicious!
I was wrong last night… turns out we are expecting 60 people at out house tonight. Yikes!
Better get my butt moving with cleaning and setting up!
Have a great Christmas Eve!
