An Apple a Day Keeps the Doctor Away

by Meghann on November 18, 2009

Good morning blog world and welcome to another beautiful day. :)

I hope the weather is gorgeous where ever you are because it certainly is here. My run this morning was in the low 60s and thanks to the nearly cloudless sky the sun rising over the horizon was breath taking to watch as I was hitting my strides.

My beautiful run consisted of 3 miles and 6×100 strides. Wednesdays are my favorite runs on my training schedule because they tend to lean towards the shorter side and provide a nice break between my longer weekday runs.

At the grocery store on Sunday I splurged and purchased one extra large Honeycrisp Apple that just happened to be the center piece of my breakfast this morning.

Isn’t she beautiful?

In the center of my circle of slices was one heaping dollop of Naturally Nutty Vanilla Almond Butter (love this stuff!) for dipping.

With the apple I had the last of my Pear Almond Raisin Muffins I had frozen a while back.

This was a really great & filling breakfast. It was also the perfect breakfast for a busy morning because I was able to continue to munch on the apple slices while I got ready for work and caught up on my dose of daily news.

Maddie’s Furry Friend…

Last night I received the most adorable e-mail from Stephanie, a fellow Jack Russell Mom and blog reader.

Stephanie is mom to a 4 year old Jack named Peaches who is apparently a big fan of my little Maddie.

Stephanie wrote

I have gotten into the habit of letting my dog view new Maddie Pictures and Videos, and she gets so excited now everytime I open up the laptop to see what she will get to watch today!

Peachie

Maddie was uber excited when I told her Peaches was a big fan and sends Peaches lots of sloppy licks and kisses. :)

Great job on your run!

I was wondering if Jack Russells are loud dogs. I live in an apartment complex, but we’re allowed to have dogs as long as they aren’t loud. My bf and I are looking into dogs and have narrowed our search down to pugs and jack russells. Thanks for any info :)

When crate training Maddie she was a very loud dog, but I think you get that with most puppies. I would say it all depends on teh age of the Jack and how much training they already have in them.

Good luck!

Thanks! We’re looking at two dogs from a shelter that are in foster homes right now. I think they’re already trained so that’s a bonus :) Thanks again.

Let me know if this brekkie holds you over like your usual breakfasts. Not sure if I would last!

Dude your video is AWESOME! So cute! But I seriously almost flipped when you went to get the cake out of the oven. I was worried it was hot (you weren’t wearing oven mitts)!!!!

I will vote for you every day! You are definitely the right person for the job!
