Happy Friday from 30,000 feet in the air!!

I <3 flying AirTran and its onboard WiFi!

This is my first experience accessing WiFi on a flight and after only logging in a few minutes ago, I already can’t imagine flying again without it. The $12.95 I spent to connect for my 4+ hour flight is so far worth every penny.
Despite a few delays with taxiing on the runway; my morning of travel has been great!
Flying across the country always throw my body off with meal times, so I made sure to put a lot of thought into meal preparation for the day.
For starters I woke up this morning starving, but wanted to hold off eating my packed breakfast until a more reasonable hour. If I ate my whole breakfast at 5:00am then I would have been ready for lunch at 10:00.
I was able to successfully stall my hunger by nibbling on 1/2 a slice of Cinnamon Raisin Bread before leaving for the airport.

Once in the airport I couldn’t resist indulging in a Grande Awake Tea Non-Fat Misto with a single pump of Pumpkin Spice.

I’ve seen multiple people ordering mistos on the blogs lately and decided to give it a try. I honestly couldn’t taste the different between the misto and my beloved latte and the misto was a dollar cheaper!
My first flight – Orlando to Atlanta – is where my meal strategy for the day really kicked in. I packed a larger breakfast for the trip, but broke it up in two parts.
The first half was consumed and enjoyed right after take off from Orlando.

Last night I prepped a Pumpkin Breakfast Cookie by combining the following:
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 2 hefty spoonfuls of canned pumpkin
- 1 spoonful almond butter
- raisins
- crushed walnuts
The cookie firmed up in the fridge overnight and found a home in my carry on this morning.

Once on the flight I topped the cookie with the Pumpkin Pie Yogurt and enjoyed!

I ate the second half of my breakfast – a juicy Honeycrisp Apple – after take off on my second flight.

My flight lands just after noon in San Francisco, so for lunch I plan on implementing the same meal splitting concept. I packed a small lunch to eat at some point during this flight and will grab a large snack when I land in San Francisco.
Hopefully my meal planning skills will keep me from constantly snacking all day and help my stomach adjust to the time change quicker.
I have soooo much work to do blog-wise and I can’t wait to tackle all my to dos. I seriously don’t think I can fly with out access to wifi ever again. I am officially spoiled!
One Final Plea…
Today is the last day to get your votes in for Sam-e Good Mood Blogger Gig. Please, please get your final votes in before the clock strikes 12. You never know who is going to pull ahead in the last minute, but as long as I stay in the top 20 I am guaranteed to move on to the next round. Woo hoo!
I could not have done it with out all of your votes. You guys are hands down amazing!
THANK YOU!!

And for 12 dollars, not expensive at all!

I’m going to have to try that pumpkin cookie — it looks amazing!!
Have a great time at FoodBuzz!
How did you manage to get a yogurt through security?
And, I need to try these breakfast cookies…
I always have the same problem when taking an early flight. Travel always throws me off! I love the idea of a breakfast cookie to go – I’m flying tomorrow morning: I might do the same! Have a great time!
I hope my next flight has Wifi! That would make it go so much faster…
I ? me a good misto
Haha
I tried the nonfat pumpkin spice latte ((1 pump)) for the first time this morning! I love the blend of cinnamon and pumpkin…it’s sooooo yummy! Have a safe trip!
I feel the exact same thing about those mistos! I love them, AND their price tag.. you seriously can barely taste the difference between that and an espresso, especially if you get it with soy milk.
I always get thrown off flying across the country too. Meals at weird times, etc. But you do have an extra 3 hours in your day because of the time change, so you might need to eat extra – I always seem to need to.
plus airport food is so tempting! especially when you’re flying for work and it’s free
Have fun. Can’t wait to read about your adventures!

Thanks for sharing how you maintain healthy eating while traveling, that is always super hard for me. Thanks for some great ideas
Hope everything goes great!
Smart idea packing your own breakfast and lunch. Your breakfast cookie looks amazing.
Ha – I was wondering how you got the yogurt through security too! Then again, I feel like I frequently end up with liquid things outside my little bag that don’t get caught….
