Why is it when you have no intention of buying anything that everything screams ‘Buy Me’ at the mall BUT when you shop with a mission nothing stands out?
Its one of those odd mysteries in life you can always count on.
After browsing half a dozen stores at the mall this afternoon I was feeling very discouraged. I had no definite idea of what I wanted, but I knew everything I saw wasn’t it.
Thankfully after a couple of hours of not knowing what I wanted, I stumbled into New York & Co and was able to walk away with a couple of new shirt ensembles that just might work.

What do you think?
I now have my whole wardrobe planned for San Francisco next weekend. Its funny how figuring out what to wear always seems to be the most stressful part of trips for me!
When Derek and I left the apartment before shopping I knew hunger would eventually kick in and I didn’t feel like paying $10 for what ever the food court had to offer. Instead I came prepared and packed a lunch to refuel with after some hardcore shopping cardio.

My packed lunch contained an Almond Butter, Pumpkin Butter, and Raisin Sandwich

a Honeycrisp Apple

And a ReesesStick

The only item missing was a drink. Luckily Starbucks came to the rescue with an Unsweetened Grande Passionfruit Iced Tea.

My lunch was delicious, filling and nutritious. Derek enjoyed his as well.;)

Pumpkin Seeds
On Friday I saved the seeds from the pumpkin Derek and I carved, but at the time was too lazy to bake them. I stored them in the fridge and brought them out this afternoon to bake.

I wasn’t sure if the seeds would still be good, but they worked great.

I simply seasoned the seeds with salt and pepper and roasted for 10 minutes at 415. Its good to know when ever I have seeds to roast that holding off for a couple of days is no big deal.
Pizza, Pizza
Derek requested Build Your Own Pizzas as his last meal before he departed back to Tampa.
I just so happened to have pizza dough in the freezer that I had prepped a last week and plenty of veggies that needed to be eaten. Once the crust defrosted dinner took no time to prepare and consume.

We each had our own personal sized pizza, but the toppings were the same.
- Marinara Sauce
- Mushrooms
- Okra
- Carrot
- Onion
- Hamburger
- Zucchini
- Cheese
- Pumpkin Seeds
- Basil

The pizza came out nice and crisp – just the way I like it. I think the trick to a perfect thin crust is letting the dough come completely to room temperature before rolling out.

I had been fantazing about this cupcake all day.

I managed to steal a couple of Megan’s cupcakes at the party last night. They are completely made from scratch and a-ma-zing! I have one more left in the fridge that I know ill be on my mind all day tomorrow as well.

This time change is already throwing me off. I can barely keep my eyes open; a clear sign I need to get to bed.
It was another great weekend and I’m looking forward to my short work week before another weekend of fun begins.
Don’t forget you still have until November 6th to keep the votes rolling in for the Sam-e Good Mood Blogger. WE’re in the home stretch, lets keep those votes coming!!!
Have a great first week in November everyone! Good Night!

Those sammies look/sound amazing!! I love your Vera Bradley lunch bag!
I pretty much have to avoid New York & Company as a rule. Just too tempting.
I totally have the same cardigan in green ready for the trip
Nice job with the shopping! I have been looking for a few new things and have been unable to find anything (which totally meets your rule haha). What a fun day you and D had. Love making big batches of pizza dough! I used up the remainder of mine today too
I like that Maddie is conked out next to your purchases!
Great idea to back your lunch for your shopping trip! I always have the same shopping issue
only the classiest chicks rock vera bradley lunch boxes — I love mine [and yours!

I suffer from severe impulse buyer syndrome – it’s awful. Target and TJmaxx are my guiltiest pleasures – so dangerous!
Ahh I have NO IDEA what I am bringing to San Fran. I can not even believe we will be there in just a few days!
I had the same thing happen to me at the mall today…so many things to buy but nothing was catching my eye…i think it’s because i live out of t-shirts and field clothes…doesn’t make much for a fashion sense, eh?
I think youre becoming obsessed with the pumpkin butter, peanut butter, and chocolate chip sammie, but that sounds like an awesome obsession to have
You are SO right about nothing catching your eye when you’re shopping on a mission, but when I’m broke everything looks just so cute!
I love shopping on Sundays.
For me shopping is hit or miss. I think it all depends on my mood. Do I want to spend money or do I want to be cheap?
I absolutely love shopping. Except, the dreaded always happens. When you don’t have the means to be buying clothes, you want everything. When you do have the means, there is NOTHING you want. Grr.
I love build your own pizza’s. Especially since my boyfriend is such a picky eater!
I feel you on the shopping thing. Whenever I go shopping with money and a mission I can’t find a thing, but when I’m broke and my closet is full everything I look at I want to buy.
It’s definitely the law of shopping. I haven’t allowed myself since quitting my job.
Yummy pizza if I ever get through my leftovers I totally am making some.
Cute tops for your trip! I really like the buttons on the jacket you got.
I totally agree about the shopping thing! I always find that whenever I’m broke, I see so many cute things, but when I actually have money to spend on clothes, I can’t find ANYTHING! The stuff you got is super cute though!
Yummy looking cupcake!!
I went to NY&CO on Friday and could not find anything. I don’t know what the deal is, I normally can buy the entire store.

So I basically want to eat everything you posted today, times 10.
Also, love the prom dress cinderella!
Great shopping finds!!
Love your new jacket and cardi! Cupcakes made from scratch are the only ones worth eating in my opinion!!
There is something abt shopping that makes u starvinggg!
Nice shopping finds, love NY and Co… I have that jacket too, but watch the buttons, they come off really easily!
It’s 11pm and I have the HUGEST starbucks craving due to this post! lol
i just noticed that maddie is passed out behind the clothes <3
You should see the five other photos I have with her walking all over the clothes. lol
Cute jacket! NY&Co is definitely a good place to find clothes at the last minute. I love that you brought your lunch too, great idea! Make sure you bring layers to SF; I went this June and was so surprised at how windy/chilly it was! Apparently fall weather is better/warmer, but still! Good thing they have lots of scarves available in Chinatown. Have an awesome time – can’t wait to read along!
And that cupcake – gah!! So good.
Ha, I was going to ask you about the Reese’s sticks after you declared your love for Reese’s and KitKats. But I must have gotten distracted by something else while commenting
Have a great Monday!
Nice jacket!! I actually bought the same one when I was in the states a couple of weeks ago! haha You have great taste!
great idea of bringing your own lunch!
jenna
I also recently bought that same jacket! Well, actually my Mom did. She insisted on buying me something a few weeks ago and I gave in after I tried it on.
