The idea of getting my hair cut always scares me. The process of scheduling an appointment.. having to miss work.. crossing my fingers the cut comes out right.. all sort of puts me on edge.
However, once I’m in the chair and someone is gently massaging my scalp all of the anxiety instantly disappears. I enter the salon feeling tense and on edge, but I leave happy and relaxed.
I didn’t do anything drastic this morning, just an inch off the length and a little texturing to get rid of some bulk that was driving me crazy. (Thick hair = no bueno in extreme humidity)
I stole a Tootsie Pop from the candy stash at the reception desk on my way out and sucked on it on my way back to work.
However, a slight detour was involved.
Whole foods just happened to be on my way back, so I stopped and picked up some items for lunch.
Falafel Balls.
I saw these and instantly wanted them, but did not appreciate the deep fried aspect. I put them back, but kept picking them back up and finally left with them.
They were ok. I should have gone with my instinct and grabbed something else.
Stuffed Grape Leaves.
These were good and I thought went well with the Falafels.
Pumpkin Pie Yogurt with Pumpkin Granola
I stocked up on Pumpkin Pie Yogurt at the store and couldn’t resist including one with my lunch.
I saved it for the end and ate it as a dessert.
Only a few more hours until my weekend begins!!! I already have a festive evening planned that includes pumpkin carving, pumpkin beer and pumpkin gelati. Do you sense a pumpkin theme in my day?

Okay, whatever that falafel stuff is, I want that. (sorry, but lack of food culture is showing today)
Pumpkin themed days are the best!! Love the new hair cut too.
i have had a pumpkin themed couple of weeks
I’m so jealous I’ve never been to a whole foods.
Cute haircut! I am due for one but scared to go to someone new in Philly. I have been going to the same amazing woman for 7 years!
I’ve been on the hunt for that pumpkin pie yogurt! your new haircut looks great!
is pumpkin beer really good?
Hey, no shame in pumpkin themed days! Those are my fav lately… plus one never needs an excuse for pumpkin beer.

Cute cut!
I grew up with falafel, and love love love both the chickpea and the fava varieties. It’s next to impossible to find falafel around here, but my mom sends me really easy mixes where you add water until it’s completely binded as a somewhat loose paste, form into balls, and pan-sear or bake. Easy Peasy!
I have a bunch of them, so if you want to try one out, let me know – I’ll send you one.
I am always so scared to get my hair cut because one time when I was 13 (yes I’m 23 now but STILL traumatized by this incident ) My hair dresser cut off about 10 inches of my hair and it was up to my ears! I hated it soooo much and after all these years it still hasn’t’ grown back!
Your hair cut looks great though : )

Jessica, pumpkin beer IS good! (Just had BJ’s Brewhouse’s pumpkin ale last night…yummy!)
Meghann, love the new ‘do! I hear you on the non-pouffy cut with this humidity.
So jealous! WF is always out of the pumpkin pie yogurt when I go!
Your hair looks great!
Sorry about the so so falafel .. have you ever made your own? They sell mixes that you just combine with water and then broil in the oven which are really yummy!!

Great haircut!
love the hair!
I love getting my hair cut. It is just hair! It grows back.
That falafel looks amazing! I have been craving it for a couple weeks now. Cute haircut!
Cute haircut and very cool that you could leave and get it done in the middle of the day!!
That falafel doesn’t look right…It looks more like arancini than falafel. Glad the grape leaves were good though
Have fun tonight!
gelato? Yum!
Stuffed grape leaves are my faaavourite!!!! I love falafels too, but they’re all deep-fried so I like to bake them at home instead. Deep-fried = tummy pain = no good.
Have a fun tonight!
Looking good!
I love falafel, sorry to hear that wasn’t that great.
Have a great friday night!
Your hair looks super cute
I am so jealous of that pumpkin yogurt, I wish I could find some!

You look so cute! Miss you.
Please try to have pumpkin at dinner so you can have a pumpkin trifecta!
Love the hair cut! I’m still trying to find the pumpkin yogurt–with no luck I might add!
I agree with Heather–pumpkin for dinner!!
Your hair looks fantastic! I know what you mean about thick hair and humidity. I recently had my hair cut and thinned out coz it was SO THICK and it’s awful in the heat when you’re trying to run.
I really really hate fried food. I couldn’t have eaten those falafels.
Hair looks cute. What does it look like from the back?
I don’t like falafel. I’m weird, I know.
your hair looks very cute. love those sunglasses too!
Your hair looks great!! I’ve been trying to find the pumpkin stonyfield everywhere but no luck! I’ll just live vicariously through your posts.
I love getting my hair cut. It’s sick… I’m resisting the temptation right now since winter’s on her way. I’d love to just chop all my hair off, though.
I am dying to find that Stonyfield Pumpkin Yogurt! It doesn’t exist in NC, at least not in my neck of the woods. Your hair looks amazing, you look so great with above the shoulder hair. I am trying to get the courage to chop mine but keep coming up with excuses.
Haircuts can cause so much anxiety sometimes. Eek! Yours looks great!
I loves me some pumpkin! Your hair looks great
